Hello! Its good to finally be able to converse with other moms who have children with club feet. My son who is now 16 mos old was born with bilateral club feet. It was the scariest thing for us. I never heard of this before. He was casted on 6 days old. Then they divided his achilles sp? tendons after 3 mos of casts. Now he wears braces at nap and night time. the one foot has completely fixed. The other is still turned quite a bit.... its delaying his ability to walk on his own...but he is a very happy boy

Is he still upset today? Possibly could be that he isn't used to the cast and he wasn't to happy with having them on. We never had a problem with Logan being upset after cast application. He was always a little tired afterward. Where are you going for treatment?

We are going to Shriners childrens hospital. he is exclusively breastfed and now wont eat and my milk supply is lowering. I have to change his positioning now due to the casts and he doesnt like it. They didnt do a very good job on his right leg the fluffy gauze fell down and the hard plaster is rubbing against his skin. We put Tissue there and it seems to be better. He hasnt screamed much today thankfully but was up every hour to eat last night ( hopefully catching up from not eating yesterday.) Did any of you have problems BF your babys if you did Bf?? He loved having his legs up against his chest with his legs crossed like a little potato bug so I think his screaming is from being pissed off .

Bless his heart! I didn't breastfeed, as my supply was real low and Logan had horrible acid reflux :( If the plaster is rubbing his leg, they make stuff called mole skin, put some of that around the top of it. Logan's dr actually recommended it to us for spots on his feet that his shoes (brace) would rub but this time when they put his cast on they gave us some to put around the top when the "stocking" started to wear thin. I had never thought to use if for the top of the cast before that, but it worked great.

It does get better....i bf when Reagan first got her casts....it was hard the first day or so cuz its new for them and uncomfortable....i stuffed a fuzzy sock down the spot where hers was breaking up....i also put a lrg fuzzy sock  over her cast so that when it was up against  the other leg it didnt rub her.  It seemed to help....aslo invest in some of those legging things you see people use when cloth diapering cuz a lot of times pants are hard to get over the cast
