I learned today that my baby that is due in June also has a left club foot just like her sister that just turned 1 on the 13th. It wasnt as hard of news to hear this time but i am still dissapointed. Dr. said hes never seen this happen in a family with out any family history. He said it was even weirder that we have two boys first and they didnt have it and then two girls that do and on the same foot. Anyone else have more than one child with it?
we have 5 daughters with out and our son does we have a lot of family history with it though. our last daughter had metatarsal abductis a slight form but not full club foot because they are pliable and nothing needs to be done about it. sorry :(
Your little girl in your photo is darling!! Sorry to hear about your newest having a club foot, but so glad you're educated and prepared for it this time around. I really don't know whether to be surprised or not about it happening 2x without a family history of it, but I guess I wouldn't be surprised if the next baby did simply because there now exists a family history of it given the previous child...
I can't reply to your question because my second son is the only one with club foot. But it's my first time around and he is 5 months old and HATES HIS LIFE! He stirs all night long...he sleeps in his car seat...and all I do is shove a bottle in his mouth all night to get him to go back to sleep...I feel so bad, I wish he could sleep all night, he's almost 6 months old and my husband and I are walking zombies...how did your first child handle the brace the first year???

My only suggestion is to go back to the doc and make sure that the brace is set right. When Reagan grew out of her it got to the point that if you put it on her she screamed all night. We went and got her a new brace and we havent had any trouble. But we are still wearing it 24/7 for at least another 2 months...which im not happy about cuz she is 13 months already and no where near walking
Does your 13 month old wear them 24/7 still ?? my son is11 weeks and after 6 weeks of casts, surgery, 3 weeks of a cast he just got his shoes and we are alll hating life!!!!

Reagan is back to wearing hers 24/7 but only because she has a relasp. We were only wearing them at night and nap but her foot started turning in. It was most likely due to the fact that after her screaming about it for hours we would just take it off some nights. We did not know about needing new ones as she grew. It makes since in hidsight but at the time i thought she was just throwing a fit waiting for me to give in.
