Skin breakdown

I just found this group from the Ponsetti website. I am happy to find a group who is going through the same thing. My third child, our daughter, was born with bilateral club foot, she had eight weeks of casting and is now in the bar and shoes when she sleeps.

My twelve month old is experiencing skin break down on the front of her feet from the strap/buckle area of her shoes (open toe straight lace shoe attached to Dennis Brown Bar). Has anyone else had this issue or have any recommendations for helping with this?

Have you tried putting moleskin on her foot? It protects the skin from rubbing/irritation from the shoes.

When my son wore the bar 23 hours per day we would put Vaseline all over his feet and then very thin socks with grips on the bottom. We were told the thinner the sock the better. He has been wearing the bar for 12 hours a day now (just to bed) for a year and he still gets red marks on the top every once in a while. I think it's because we didn't put the bar in properly.
I hope that helps!
