Leaving Your Child(ren) In The Car

There've been many tragic stories outlined in the media of late, where a child or children have been left alone in the car, while Mom or Dad "just runs in to the store/bank/office for a minute" and the outcome has been tragic and horrific.

Do you leave your kids alone in the vehicle? Ever?

Discuss/debate.

When my oldest, now 21, was small, I would sometimes leave him in the car in our small town while I ran in to pay for gasoline or to drop something at the post office. By the time my now 17 yr old came along, there were stories of children being taken in that short time, so I stopped doing it. Even now, when my girls are 17 and 14, I don't like the idea of leaving them in the car alone and usually drag them along with me wherever I am going inside.
