~~YOGURT HERB BREAD~~
SERVINGS: 2 LOAVES--OVEN TEMP:375-OVEN TIME:35 TO 40 MINUTES-SERVINGS:32 SLICES ABOUT-----
GREAT FOR A BUFFET!!
5 1/2 TO 6 1/2 CUPS ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
2 PKGS. (1/4 OZ. EACH) ACTIVE DRY YEAST
2 TBSP. SUGAR
2 TSP. SALT
1 CUP WATER
8 OZ. PLAIN YOGURT
3 TBSP. OIL
1 TSP. DILL WEED
1/2 TSP. DRIED CHIVES
1/4 TSP. EACH DRIED OREGANO, THYME, AND BASIL

IN A LARGE MIXING BOWL, COMBINE 2 1/2 CUPS FLOUR, YEAST, SUGAR,AND SALT.
IN A SMALL SAUCEPAN, HEAT WATER AND YOGURT TO 120 TO 130 TEMP. ADD TO FLOUR MIXTURE; MIX WELL.
ADD OIL, HERBS AND ENOUGH OF THE REMAINING FLOUR TO FORM A STIFF DOUGH.
TURN ONTO A FLOURED SURFACE; KNEAD TIL SMOOTH AND ELASTIC, ABOUT 6 TO 8 MINUTES.
PLACE IN A GREASED BOWL, TURNING ONCE TO GREASE THE TOP.
COVER AND LET RISE IN A WARM PLACE TIL DOUBLED, ABOUT 1 HOUR.
PUNCH DOUGH DOWN;SHAPE INTO 2 LOAVES.
PLACE IN 2 GREASED 8 X 4 X2 INCH LOAF PANS.COVER AND LET RISETIL DOUBLED, ABOUT 1 HOUR.
BAKE AT 375 FOR 35 TO 40 MINUTES OR TIL GOLDEN BROWN.
REMOVE FROM PANS TO COOL ON RACKS.

BEAT OM MEDUIM SPEED FOR 3 MINUTES OR TIL SMOOTH. STIR IN ENOUGHT REMAINING FLOUR TO FORM A SOFT DOUGH. TURN ONTO A FLOURED SURFACE; KNEAD TIL SMOOTH AND ELASTIC, ABOUT 6 TO 8 MINUTES. easy cinnamon rolls

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 2/3 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • dash vanilla

PREPARATION:

Roll dough to a rectangle, about 18x6 inches. Brush with the melted butter. Combine brown sugar, chopped nuts, and cinnamon; sprinkle over dough. Starting at long edge, roll dough up, jelly roll fashion; moisten edges and seal.

Cut roll into 20 slices. Place rolls, cut side down, into two 8 inch or 1 10 inch lightly buttered round cake pan(s). Let rise for about 1 1/2 hours, until doubled. Pour the cream over the rolls then bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Combine confectioners' sugar, milk, and vanilla, adding more sugar or milk if necessary. Drizzle over rolls while still warm.
Makes 20 cinnamon rolls.

Mexican Corn Muffins

1 pkg corn muffin mix
1 egg
1/3 c. milk
1 cob corn
1/4 c. diced green peppers
1/4 c. diced onion

Cut kernels off of corn cob.  Mix all ingredients together.  Pour into greased muffin tin, bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes or until center is completely done!

Cheddar-Garlic Biscuits

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic
1/4 stick butter
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup buttermilk

Preheat over to 450 degrees. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic and salt. Cut in butter. Stir in cheese. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add buttermilk. Stir with a fork until soft dough is formed, about 20-30 strokes. Form dough into a ball and softly knead 10-15 times. Pat out dough to 1/2 inch thick and cut with a cookie cutter. Bake on an ungreased baking sheet for 12-14 minutes until golden.

Maple Syrup Muffins

1/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp salt
1 1/4 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup maple syrup

Soften margarine, blend in sugar and salt. Add dry ingredients and mix until crumbly. Add rolled oats.

Blend milk and maple syrup together in measuring cup and pour over dry ingredients, stirring to moisten.

Put into muffin cups and bake at 350° F until golden brown.

MONKEY BREAD 

3 cans Pillsbury biscuits
cinnamon
sugar
1 stick butter
1 cup brown sugar

Preheat oven to 350*F. Make a cinnamon and sugar mixture to taste. Open and cut each biscuit into 4's.
Roll biscuit pieces in cinnamon/sugar mixture until evenly coated. Place evenly around greased bundt pan. In a sauce pan, melt butter, brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon until smooth and creamy. Pour over biscuits.

Place in oven for approximately 30 minutes or until cake is slightly crunchy on top. Remove from oven. Place a plate on top of bundt pan (upside down) and flip so that cake falls out onto plate.

Ranch Biscuits

2 cups bisquick
4 tsp dry ranch dressing mix
2/3 c milk
2 Tbsp butter or margarine, melted
1 tsp dried parsley
1/8 tsp garlic powder

In a bowl, stir bisquick, ranch mix, and milk until combined.  Drop 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheet.  Bake at 425 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.  In small bowl, combine butter, parsley, and garlic powder.  Brush over warm biscuits.
