Why does Amy enable the kids so much? No wonder they can't function at times. She cooks huge breakfast every day and wakes the boys up every day. I would never do that for my high schoolers.
I agree. I'm all for doing some things for your kids, but their comes a point as they get older I believe all your doing by doing everything for them is setting them up for failure in adulthood. If those kids go away to college is mommy going to go with them to make sure they wake up and get to school on time each day. As parents I feel it is our responsibility to help and teach them to be independent which means not doing everything for them all the time. When a parent does and gives a child everything and they are not made to be responsible it is a huge disservice to the child, because they seriously wont know how to function on their own, and will expect others to do and give them everything. JMO

IMO--Money hasn't been a blessing for the Roloff's-
She lives for the kids. NO wonder she and Matt's marriage is so on the rocks. Even if it wasn't by the time the kids are gone, they wouldn't know how to be husband and wife because she does way too much for the kids and they are her center. Its great to be a good Mom but she tries to be way too much of a friend to them.
Is'nt Amy allowed to make sure her kids get up on time? Both boys have hard time getting up on their own. Look at zach. They were blinde sided by him his senior yr of high school because they were concerned about jeremy.They figured zach who was always a good student would pull it together.... he did not until amy started pushing him while matt gave the comment over the air of oh hum he will get it together.
It is called being an concenred parent and one who loves their kids and wants to make sure they have a good day. Big breakfast? I guess having french toast and sausage is big and breakfast is the most important meal. My mom use to do the same. she woke me and my brothers and sisters all up, we had a ncie hot breakfast every morning.. I guess eh was a bad mom for making sure we never missed our bus, had a hot meal before leaving the house and we did our home work.. shame on you amy for being a mom to your boys! How dare you make them leave the house with a full stomach and knowing thier mom loved them enough.
Just because you dont send your kids off to high school with a hot meal and wake them up and say morning does not mean everyone else should follow suit. I wake my highschooler up, if I did not she would over sleep. I make her and my son any where from french toast to eggs,bacon and toast... I guess that makes me a bad mom to hu!
is her house clean? no and I for one like that. I like the fact here is a family that shows it like it is. It is not fake like the duggars who has to have a spotless home and all kids are grinnign and happy and nothing is ever wrong!
I was responsible and woke myself up by an alarm every morning in hs, so do my girls. You think if Mom wakes them up every morning they will get up by themselves when they are at college??? Its teaching them how to be a responsible adult. I think cereal is fine, I would never get up and get a huge griddle out at 5:30am for my girls, sorry. My girls leave for school at 6:25am.
Sorry the Roloffs can't hold a candle to the Duggars.

I wake my son who is a freshman in high school just like I did for my son who is a freshman in college now. Also made them breakfast. As far as someone saying the kid is not going to be responsible and who is going to wake him in college??????????He scheduled all afternoon & night classes!!!LOL,,HAHA Mama didn't raise no fool..LOL and he did very well this semester and got a full scholarship

My DD is only 3, so I really can't give input on what works for us because she hasn't started school yet. But my dad's mom woke him and his brother up every morning and took orders for breakfast. Seriously, she would make each kid whatever they wanted for breakfast every single morning. My uncle passed away when he was 19, but my dad is still a smart man and a hard worker. He is in no way lazy. I just feel like those reasons you stated are silly. I do think she let's them walk all over her, but cooking them a big breakfast and waking them up is really not a huge deal.
Amy is a mom. My mom did this for my brothers and me all the time, it does not mean she was enabling us and I have seen her where when jeremy was sleeping in all the time that she took his keys away making him having to take his bike to school. She has also been all over the kids when it came to things as well. Just because she makes them meals does not mean she enabling them.
I also wake my kids up every day especially my daughter who is in high school. I get her up, she has a nice breakfast and she takes the bus to and from school. I guess I am enabling her by waking her up like my mom did with me and my brothers and feeding her a ncie hot breakfast. shame on me.
Just because she does this for them does not mean they will be clueless on what to do in college. That is a low blow and a cheap shot just because she is a good mom who wants to make sure her kids have a good meal. How many times has she gone away for conferences and speaking engagements and omg the kids have survived her being gone. I think some people just do not like amy for their own reasons.
