Does anyone else think that the christmas decorations on last nights' episode where a bit over the top? I mean I understand that they wanted the house to look nice for all the company coming, but man! That had to cost them thousands! Don't get me wrong I love the roloffs but they just did a hudge remodel that they had to take out a few loans for. I wonder where they keep getting all the money? It seems that matt throws money around like it is falling from the sky. Even my husband was shocked at the episdoe and he thought it was a bit much!
that fake snow would have pissed me off! i thot it was pretty but we were wondering the same thing about the money....they must get pd a pretty penny for the show and his kits must not come cheap for the hotels! Im sure the company gave them a break for advertising they got in return........
the kits i believe are 350 bucks....i looked it up a couple weeks ago cause my hubby thought the stool would be good for our 2 year old and yeah....lol
My hubby was watching LPBW while I was making dinner andhe was telling me what was going on- when he said they paid people to decorate their house inside and out, I was like "why?" I mean, they have 2 teenage sons and a teenage daughter - why in the world couldn't the kids have pitched in and done the decorating? I remember doing ALL the decorating when I was growing up- of course I had help outside with the trees, but christmas lights and decor isn't really something I feel you need to hire someone to do. That had to cosst them a pretty penny, too. I thought the snow was very cool! Living somewhere where it doesn't snow, it would be too neat to have some snow!!
I thought it was pretty. That was NOTHING compared to what some people where I live do. Thing is, I don't think I would have wanted to see the outcome if the kids would have done it. I would have killed DH if he went behind my back and ordered that snow. Thought it was funny how Amy piled the boxes into Matt's office!

Its typical Matt and I think this time Amy was on board because their entire family on both sides were going to be together for the first time in a long time and it may not happen again.
I assume the pumpkin farm makes pretty good money. Other than that Amy is a preschool teacher so I dont know where the money comes from.
I sooooooo LOVE their house!
The decorations were great! I laughed when they said that they found people to come out the next day. Well, YEAH, they were doing it super early weren't they? Normal people don't decorate for Christmas that early. They called for pros though because Amy couldn't find her decorations, so they were going to have to buy new ones anyway. Then, with the families coming, they went professional. I bet they buy decorations next year.
I agree that their teenage children should have helped out with something. They were barely even there this episode.
i thought it looked great. i had two teenage sons and the last thing on their minds was helping with Christmas decorating. at their age it's still all about them. also i believe they are well compensated for their show.i think the rolloffs are wonderful. they are learning as they go just like most of the rest of us. merry christmas everyone!
I so admire these people, they dont let beig small stop them from liveing life to the fullest.Their home is so beautiful, and i loved the decorations.I hope it never goes off the air i try to never miss an episode.God Bless you all.
I thought the lights were pretty but the snow was crazy. I would have hated to clean up that mess once it rained. Did you see it sticking to their shoes?!? I think it was supposed to really be an inside thing for store displays or something like that.
As for paying for it all, I'm sure they make tens of thousands per episode and I know that Matt makes something like $7500 for a speech. I imagine Amy gets something similar. They may have had to take out some loans on their house to keep the cash flow going, but I'm sure their income will catch up with it soon if it hasn't already. The Roloff's aren't hurting for cash in any way.
