Hello my name is Shannon I have 5 children that are all very active. My three sons right now are play metro soccer, which is a traveling team. Last week they had a tournament which was a lot of fun. My husband coaches soccer and has for many years. My 17 years old used to be in gymnastics and she was quite good. She competed all over Northern California and one year was 9th in the state. yeah, I am a proud mom!!

I am a mom to three kids. My oldest is almost 6 (Aug. 9) and she has been in gymnastics and cheerleading since she was 3. She is getting ready to start her first season in soccer and starting the first grade cheerleading squad for football at her elementary school. My youngest two are too young to play but when they are older, they will.

HI! I am a mother of three boys. My boys are five and a half, almost four (in Sept) and 17 months!
My oldest plays Tball, soccer and is taking swim lessons. We are also considering trying floor hockey and/or Karate this winter.
My middle son plays soccer and swim lessons.
I think sports or activites are great for kids (espically those that are not extremly physical...at such young ages)
I think activties, such as sports keeps kids out of trouble later too! LOL!

I have to agree with you, I think sports helps to keep them interested and active in positve things instead of being bored and getting into trouble. Welcome to the group!

hi there, my children were really interested in sports. my daughter is the only one now that is going to do softball for her high school. i tried to get my boys interested in a sport but my 12 yearold likes football but losses interest right away. hes now interested in skateboarding. not a real sport but it keeps him in shape. my youngest likes to skate. well, i will try again to get them interested in real sport again when the season starts for some. hope to get advise soon. daisy

Skateboarding is very good exercise and well defiantly keep him in shape. Where I live we just got a skate park. I think my son thinks it is his second home although he mostly goes down there to ride his bike. But at the skate park this year they started having competitions once and a while, I would say it is a sport, maybe just different than the traditional sports that we think of.
