Just starting to consider using a surrogate.......

Hi, my husband and I have just started to consider using a surrogate.   We are very fortunate to already have children from our first marriages but we have none together.  I am no longer able to get pregnant and we want a child of our own to raise together.   I am wondering if anyone out there used a family member as their surrogate,  we are considering doing just that.  I have some concerns that it might not go well,  does anyone have any thoughts?

I thought about that too and had concerns.. but my DH sister wanted to be a surrogate for us, but unfortunately her husband didn't agree and was afraid he would become attached and feel strange when he saw the baby. So, she was not our GS and we found someone independently. I think it really depends on each individual family though.
