Does anyone have any simple and easy Christmas recipes for candy or snack that a 2 yr old can help with? My son is 2 and loves to help me do things. Thanks!

How about those thumbprint cookies, the ones with the Hersheys Kiss in it?  Of course it couldn't be a peanut butter cookie at his age, but there are some basic cookie recipes out there that you could substitute (check allrecipes.com or foodnetwork.com).  Then let him put the Kiss on the cookies.

My granddaughters are now 4 and 6, but they've always helped with any cookie that gets covered w/ sugar.  We just put the sugar in a zip-loc baggie, and they shake away!!!!

My mother-in-law passed this down to me and they are soooo yummy and you can make them healthier if you wanted. Simple Easy Fast and your lo could help you for sure.

Monster Cookies

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon corn syrup
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups peanut butter
  • 4 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (any kid, semi sweet, milk chocolate.ect.)
  • 1 cup m&m's or reeses peices
  • Preheat oven to 350.

In a LARGE bowl beat eggs

Add remaining ingred. in order, and mix well after each is added

Use an ice cream scoop or spoon to make walnut sized heeps ( you can flatten them out with your hand a little to ensure they spread proberally) to put on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Enjoy!

My grand daughters like to make "Christmas Smores."  We take graham cracker squares and spread them with marshmallow cream.  Leave about an 1/8 of an inch of the cracker uncovered at the edges.  Put another graham cracker on top and refrigerate until the marshmallow cream is hard.  Dip the graham crackers in melted chocolate almond bark and allow the chocolate to set.  Don't let the chocolate get too hot or it will melt the marshmallow cream and will leak through the chocolate.  All the family loves these but the kids LOVE making them!  Merry Christmas!
