Strawberry Bavarian Cream

1 pkg (10 ounces) frozen sliced
strawberries, thawed
1 cup boiling water
1 pkg (3 ounces) strawberry - flavored
gelatin
1 cup chilled whipping cream - or -
1 envelope (about 2 ounces) dessert topping mix

Drain the strawberries, reserving the syrup. Pour the boiling water over the
gelatin in the bowl. Stir until the gelatin is dissolved. Add enough cold
water to the reserved syrup to measure 1 cup. Stir into dissolved gelatin.
Chill until almost set. In a chilled bowl, beat the cream until stiff. (If
using dessert topping mix, prepare as directed on the package). Beat the
gelatin until foamy. Fold the gelatin and the strawberries into the whipped
cream. Pour into a 1-quart mold or into individuals molds. Chill until firm.
Yield: 6-8 servings
