I am looking for a good cream gravy recipe for Sunday Breakfast. I use an old one that my nanny used but it is bland and not much flavor?  Thanks in advance

White gravy or brown?

Biscuits and gravy:

1 - lg. roll Bob Evans sausage, crumbled and browned well.

Add: 2 - qt. half and half or whole milk

Chicken bouillon to taste.

Bring to a full heat Stirring often so that the milk doesn't scald.

Mix 1/2 cup cornstarch with 3/4 cup milk and stir until smooth.

Add to the above mixture til desired thickness. ( you may need to mix up more cornstarch mixture if you want it even thicker.)

That easy and so good!

Enjoy!

You could probably keep the recipe you are using and just add a tablespoon or so (depends on how much you are making) of chicken base (Vigo and Tone's are decent ones) to your nanny's recipe and add a little black pepper about 3 or 4 minutes before its done simmering.

Hope this helps!

Cook up some sausage or bacon, or pork chops, or some type of meat that will give you some fat.  Remove the meat (I always use a cast iron skillet for this) and put in some flour and mix in well to get rid of lumps, then add canned milk.  I keep adding flour and canned milk and stirring to keep the lumps down until I get the consistency and thickness I want.  If it looks to thick, add more milk,  If it's too thin add more flour.  Add salt and pepper.  The key to flavor is the fat from the meat.
