I am doing a ducky theme.
For out favors I bought bath salts, in the colors pink, aqua and yellow (from dollar store) and filled them in these cute little jars I found at the party store as well as a little rubber duck. We put duck stickers and ribbon on the jars.
For all of our gifts for games we are doing bath gift sets, towels / washclothes (in our showere colors of course) and a bath robe.
Decorations we cut huge rubber duckies out of poster boards in Aqua, pink, and yellow. We also bought one of those big blow up baby bath tubs that is a duck to serve drinks out of. I have a large hurrricane vase in the center of the cake table that has white styrofoam balls and little clear glass balls in it to look like bubbles and I put 2 ducks on the top to float. I got a metal tub that has baby bath stuff in it. (ducky towel, body soaps, baby shampoo, and washclothes in. I bought a ducky shower curtain to hand on the wall behind the gift tub (that is also a small plastic pool with ducks on it). I stretched a clothes line in the corner above the gift table and hung a few duck outfits that I bought from itI love that all my gifts can be used as decorations as well. I also made a five tier diaper cake. I need to wrap the diaper cake in about 6 recieving blankets but am having a hard time finding them in the right colors. I also adorned the cake with baby washclothes and little baby sock roses.
Our games will be guess mommies size, mystery baby food discoverey, Dirty diaper (guess the candy bar), and as a door prize we will give everyone a duck that brings diapers and they will write thier name on it and place in in the duck pool. My niece (the soon to be big sis) will draw the winner for a bath robe.
For food we are doing a oreintal chicken salad, a veggie tray, a cheese and cracker tray and of course cake and ice cream. I have selected 2 colored punches that we will serve as well as bottled water. The cake is a half sheet that is starwberry cake (mommy's request) with strawberrry filling. The icing is whipped. It is decorated with alot of aqua bubbles and has a pink and a yellow duck floating on top.
I cant wait. I am getting so excited. Our shower is also on Super Bowl Sunday. Yay all the ladies can get away from football madness and have fun. My sister will be so surprised. I know it sounds like a spent alot but I did all of this (including my gifts to her) for right around $200. I dont think that is too bad.
Does anybody else have any cheap ideas that I forgot?
