Is it really that wrong to throw yourself a baby shower? I don't have anyone who will, and people keep looking at me like I'm an alien when I say I'm going to throw it.

NO it is not taboo. You need it! every new momma needs it. If only you lived closer, i would throw it for you, and i dont even know you.:)

Aww thanks, that means a lot! Really! I just don't want to look bad forever for doing it myself, but I also want to celebrate the birth of my daughter too.

I'm throwing my own!  My mom is helping me, and I'm just giving her the credit (I keep calling her my scapegoat) when people ask me about it.  I'm lucky enough to have people around who would do it for me, but I really want to be involved and have control.  SO is going to be gone for most of the pregnancy, so planning the shower also gives me something to keep me occupied!
