She's got her own style. She's got her own 30-Minute Meals. And she's got her own way of saying things. You may know Rachaelspeak from watching her on TV—but just in case you get confused, here is a cheat-sheet of Rach's fave expressions. Delish!

EVOO
EVOO is extra-virgin olive oil. I first coined "EVOO" on my cooking show because saying "extra-virgin olive oil" over and over was wordy, and I'm an impatient girl—that's why I make 30-minute meals! YUM-O!
I say this if something is so good that "yum" just isn't enough of an exclamation. The accent is on the "O" as in, "Oh! That is so good!" DELISH!
Extra Yum-O! TWO TURNS OF THE PAN
I write in freehand equivalents because measuring, to me, takes away from the creative, hands-on process of cooking. Two turns of the pan with EVOO is about two tablespoons. GOOD TO GO
You're all set.

EYEBALL IT
I measure in my palm and use my eyes to estimate amounts; a tablespoon is a full palm of dried spices. YOUR NOSE WILL KNOW
Cooking is about using your senses. A dish is done when it smells done and looks good to you. EAT WELL, EAT MORE!
Rather than dieting, I live by this rule. If you eat lean meats, lots of veggies and limit (rather than eliminating) your carbs, you can eat lots of food, still fit into your blue jeans and not worry about counting the calories. GH
In recipes designed specifically for kids, this means Grown-up Helper, the big person who acts as assistant to the young chef, handling heavy pots, boiling water and other tasks. It's like having a Designated Hitter, or DH, in baseball. A GH is an important member of any kid's kitchen team. HOW GOOD IS THAT?
This question is rhetorical. Pat yourself on the back and just start eating.

She has taught me so much about measuring.  Tablespoons of EVOO (twice around the pan) Palm of her hand for spices.  She was the cook that taught me to roll lemon and limes onthe counter before you juice them too.  I have two of her knives and I love them.  I also learned how to chop vegetables correctly from watching her.

The hilarious thing is that NONE of the way she does things is really the "correct" way.  She has NEVER gone to cooking class, lol.  I never "measure spices  and don't so much measure for pancakes or things like that.  I totally want her knives but jsut can't afford them righ tnow.  I sooooo want her microwave too.

Yeah the knives were thankfully a gift. I would never have been able to afford them.  I have lots of sisters so for xmas I  just ask them to all pitch in on one gift.  I love them, wish I knew how to use them as well as she does.

I love watching 30 minute meals.  I also received one of her cookbooks for Christmas.  It is the 365 days of no repeat meals.  I LOVE IT.  It also has a bunch of her lingo in it at the beginning.  I really want her knives also but that is just not in the cards for me right now either because of price.  :D Someday though, maybe.  LOL.  I am glad there are others on here that like Rachel Ray.  Actually I really like just watching food network. I have learned so much from watching it.  I also have made some really good food.  LOL :D  I don't know how you all feel about Giada De' Larentis (sp) but she makes some good food too.  :D

If you think about it, if others had to be "taught" how to cook and she does it all on her own and can do it without the use of special tools, then who is actually the "better" cook? Hmmmm, something to think about. I had already bought Wusthofs before she came out with her knives. They look just as good and alot less expensive than my Wusthofs.
