First you need to find out what is your requirements for your state. http://www.hslda.org/hs/default.asp

Second I would suggest looking for support group in your area. I am in one and I love it. We have alot of things like ETC where the moms get together at a church and teach different classes that the kids sign up for for 10 weeks. And MOD Squad(moms of duty) where the moms get together once a month and go out to eat.

Third I would chose which curriculum you wanted to use or use online stuff for free. there is a great website to help you decided which suits your teaching stly and your kids learning style http://homeedexpert.com/nav.aspx?nav=gettingstarted

Forth I would decided in what way you wanted to keep up with homeschooling.  Journaling or lesson planning. Journaling is where you keep up with a daily of what you did. Lesson planning is an in depth of what you did and you plan it  out weekly, yearly or daily. I have done both and either way it is a job. I also suggest http://www.homeschooltracker.com/ it has a free and a $50.00 one time only membership. It does attendance, grades, journaling, lesson plan and report cards and transcripts. It is a great thing and I use it daily.

I use the homeschool tracker as well. It keeps the hours for us, a requirement for Missouri.
