Alright...I feel so sorry for this post-it's lonesome!
Somewhat recently I had two seperate pieces published (yay!) They found their way into a literary magazine called the Galleon. Both were poems-one called "Cleo" and the other somewhat stupidly called "TV Night."
It was definitely nice to see my own words in print though!
Now its someone elses turn so I don't feel like a gloater!

Twilight
In the dark of the night,
I get lost in the moonlight,
Somewhere in the surreality
Of the computations in astrology.
It's such an interesting shade
Of violet and marmalade, and
I can see the romance,
As the flowers dance.
It's more than the wind
I know it is.
So, are you ever coming with
So you can listen to my voice on the wind
When I haven't even opened my mouth and
Get lost in the colors in the south
Just before the witching hour
At three a.m., can you feel the power?
I have more poetry and stuff on my website, if you're interested in reading it.

Quoting TMLennon:I entered the same thing and was a semi finalist...I didnt know if it was a hoax or not. Here's my poem
I published a poem called "Twilight" on Poetry.com and they are publishing a book this season called Immortal Verses and they are going to put my poem in there. They are also putting it on a 3 CD set with 32 other poems. I guess I was a semifinalist in their contest. Here's the poem.Twilight

Today my English professor asked if I could come to his office after class. Nervous, I went and recieved some great news. MMC published the first edition of a book called Paddlefish in 2007. There will be 2nd edition published here in 2008, which I will be a part of through my writing and publishing class. It is book of essays, poems, and short-stories from well established authors all over the country. The submissions start pouring in in November and flow steadily through Feburary. Last year 3 students had pieces selected and published in the book. Well.....today he asked if it is okay to include my final paper from last semester in the book!!!! It has already been chosen, I only had to accept. I am so excited to have another paper published! It will also be in the running for the 2008 J.L. Gormer Award for Nonfiction Prose!! I am so excited. If you would like to read excerpts from the current issue or see what this book is all about, here is the website.
And be sure to look for the next edition due out in 2008...and don't forget to read my piece!!!
It is a 8 page essay based of true events from my life.
