Long after you stopped loving each other, did you and/or your ex continue to say "I'm very happy with you," even if it wasn't true?

I continued saying I LOVE YOU for a long time, because I did. Even though he was an asshole. BUT, I made sure I also told him I was very unhappy. I believe the exact words were "I've never been so miserable in my life". It was like talking to a wall.
Once I really DID stop loving him, it wasn't long before I said ENOUGH.
Divorces suck. But, bad marriages suck even more.

I'll be #2. We still both tell each other we love each other. I do because I love him very much. I love him so much it hurts most days to think that he is with someone else. I don't know why he still tells me though. He asked for it. He wanted it. He moved her in. Etc, etc... Maybe he does still love me just not the same way I love him. I don't know really. I just know it sucks.
