This is a terrific book. I checked it out from the library and I'm looking for an affordable one on Amazon.

It tells about each herb and its uses and also the best preparations. Some herbs need to be dried and powdered and others steeped as tea. It is very interesting.

Thanks for the suggestion!  I've been looking for something that would lay out the uses of different herbs. I'll have to check this out! :)

I agree, this book is an excellent resource! I bought it when my older children were small, and it has been my favorite guide for raising them healthy, and treating illnesses at home. Aviva shares lots of great recipes for homemade teas, cough syrups, salves, and other remedies.

I love being proactive about my family's health issues, and not having to haul them to the doctor for every sniffle and earache. My copy of this book is well-worn, and it is worth its weight in gold.
