I guess the post on this book is in another forum (or maybe in another group, I get confused).
This book is like sitting down with a new interesting friend who grows her own food, makes her own clothes, and enjoys homemade wine and banjo music and chatting with her for a couple of hours. I really enjoyed it. And sharing this book with mainstreamers is a good way to "explain" why on earth anyone would wanna live like this. She gives good not-found-elsewhere advice, too. Stuff you'd learn if you listened to the old women in the feed or yarn store, you know? Like she's really been there and done that.
I enjoyed reading it too, and was surprised that she is so young. It didn't make my "gotta have it in my collection" list though. She has a blog-do you follow her?
I joined the blogging bandwagon: http://some-thingscookin.blogspot.com/
There's a story of her in Mother Earth News, not sure what issue, I just picked it up at the library today. If you don't have it, her blog is http://coldantlerfarm.blogspot.com/.
Hope you're not swamped for too much longer!
