The Seasons on Henry's Farm

This book takes a year on a farm in central Illinois divided into chapters and weeks to describe what their family goes through in a complete year of farming. The author, Terra Brockman, also includes reflections on life and death in the circle of life on a farm.

I thought this book was great as I have NO experience farming let alone gardening, and my husband and I are dreaming of having a homestead someday and growing most of our own food. If you are interested in finding out what having a sustainable farm entails, this book is awesome. I also appreciate how easy and quick of a read it was since it was written as a narrative.

I'll have to check it out! My fave homesteading book is The Backyard Homestead.
