I posted before about the rabbit having diarrehea. well I thought he'd gotten better cause he was more active & I hadn't noticed anymore poop. Well last night ( which would have been 2 days after I took him in the 1st time for my concerns ) he was out and he had loose poop and it went all over his fur and paws, it was quite gross. I tried to clean him up with a wipey but it really wasn't working. I put him back in the cage and today my son went to bring him out and said to come look at him that he stunk. He was laying in his own pee and alot of it, and he was still covered in poop. In the 5 days we have had him I have never seen a normal pellet poop. So I took him back in and they have asked to hold on to him until Monday just to see how he does. I really don't know what good that will do because there are 4 other bunnies so if they put him in the cage with those bunnies you won't know if he pooped normal, or if hes eating ( which I don't think he has been doing much of ) I guess we will see on Monday, but I certainly can't have a disgusting bunny covered in its filth all the time. I would never let my kids handle him its just gross.
thanks for asking. We ended up leaving him there and bringing home another. I did not think it was right to bring the bunny back home again. we had brought him back to the pet store 2x to be looked at and felt by taking him out of the envoirnment again that it was just going to be to stressful ( on the bunny ). So we brought home another and he has done well. I am still not seeing pellet poop. He has soft poop but not runny and he seems alot more active.
One thing I did when I brought my bunnies home fromt he pet store was putting a little REGULAR oatmeal in there food. It helped to get rid of the runniness or softness. The vet told me I could do that until they were 'adjusted'.
