You MUST read and agree to these guidelines before joining PhotoMoms.

Here are a few guidelines we need to follow:

1. If you are new to Cafemom or haven't been back in a while, please have information, photos (does't have to be alot but more then just your avatar photo), and have joined other groups (not just he Newcomers Group) BEFORE you join this group or you will be denied. If your profile or your photos are private, please let us know, you will be sent a message from an Admin for you to invite her. Please do this in a timely matter. If the invite is not sent within 2 days you will be denied. You can always reapply with an invite to that person!

2. PLEASE do NOT post or upload copyright images. If you didn't take the picture, it's not yours to share. So, unless you have written permission to share, DON'T.  It is illegal to scan & share images that are not your own, and we don't want any lawsuits on our hands. Even if you purchased the rights to the photographs, I will still delete the photographs. No questions asked. Many times, these copyright release forms do NOT allow for posting on the internet or for editing. So to play fair, I will delete any and all professional portraits that are posted. ALSO, NUDE Photos of children are NOT allowed. Baby butts are fine. Anything showing frontal nudity will be deleted. Tasteful boudoir photos of adults are fine, just please use some tact when posting. Any kind of full frontal nudity (male or female) or anything distasteful will be deleted. Break any part of this rule, and your post will be deleted and you will be banned from the group.

LOGOS/WATERMARK MAKING-This is a copyright issue in many instances with fonts, brushes, images etc. We simply cannot verify that each and every member has purchased the commercial right to use a font, brush, etc for design purposes. There are several commercial designers in the group who do make them and you are encouraged to approach those women about it. Please do not design anything for each other-this could cause the end user a huge lawsuit in the end if  you don't have permissions! I know it sounds just like something nice to do, but you wouldn't want to cause problems by not knowing something.

2. Share as many photos as you like, ask as many questions as you like.

We have quite a few professional photographers in here, and I'm certain someone will be more than happy to help you out. We were ALL once beginners, and you can't learn if you don't ask.

3. When asking for Constructive Criticism (CC) to improve your photos, don't be offended if someone posts and says, "Next time, try tilting their head this way." or something to that affect. Remember - if we don't know what we're doing wrong, we can't fix it. HOWEVER, that being said, if you are *giving* the CC, be nice. Remember that you were once a beginner, too, and the people on the other side of the computer screen have feelings. I will delete posts that seem to be snarky or just downright mean. Also, don't give CC if they don't ask for it. Some people just want to share and not worry about the technical aspects, and THAT'S OK!

4. You MUST check into the group at least once a month. If you don't, your membership will be deleted. If it gets deleted, no worries, just join again! We just want to weed out the people that are only here to SPAM.

5. SPAM is NOT tolerated. DO NOT post anything asking people to come and vote for your photos in some off-site contest. DO NOT post and tell us how we can make $5 million by joining your company. You will be banned from PhotoMoms. No questions asked. NO SECOND CHANCES. This is a fabulous group, and we are here to help one another with photography. If you want to improve or are just starting up your business, the best way to improve is to ask for CC.

6. If you are just here to stir up trouble or drama, DON'T JOIN. It won't be tolerated and your posts will be deleted and you will be banned. End of story. Also, DO NOT BRING DEBATES FROM OTHER GROUPS OVER HERE.

7. PLEASE stick to the subject of PHOTOGRAPHY. I understand that there will be some off topic posts. It happens. But, please do not post about politics, abortion rights, gay rights, or any other kind of "hot topic" items in this group. Members who post off topic posts MAY be banned, but only at the discretion of the admin, and only if the post is about a "hot topic." Any questions about something off topic that you want to post in here? Just PM the group owner and ask for permission first.

8. Most importantly, HAVE FUN. I want everyone in here to feel comfortable sharing photos and learning all that they can.

9. If you have a link for your group in your siggy, that is fine and great! But as far as advertising in the group goes? We have to say no. There are too many groups out  there that we don't agree with and I don't want to say Photo Groups only or if you are a purple people eater, you can't advertise, so-NONE. We are sisters of a sort with Photography Camera Workshop and I highly recommend it. Otherwise? No advertising. Sorry!
