Mucous Plug...?!

Hi everyone, I know for sure I lost my mucous plug this morning and I'm almost certain it was the whole thing (sorry for tmi!) What I'm wondering is how soon after you already mommies lost your mucous plug did you go into labor? I'm 38 weeks and 4 days prego and have been having some pretty strong contractions on and off for a week now. Last Doc visit was last Wed and I still hadnt been dilating or anything. So im super curious because I am super anxious to have the baby already! Thanks girls! :-)

I lost mine about 2-2 1/2 weeks ago.  the messed up part is that it can grow back lol.  im 39 1/2 weeks now and am 2 cm and 0% effaced.  it can all happen all at once.  so be patient.  trust me im trying!  lol GL

i have heard that you can loose it up to 3 weeks before you go into labor and if your not dilated i wouldn't be worried. I know your ready and all.. but im 2cm dilated (as of the 21st i was) and i havent even lost mine or had any major contractions. I don't know if im effaced or not ... i don't remember my Dr. saying anything about that. But she did say my baby is as low as he is going to drop and that he is at the cervical opening... It's a hurry up and wait game.
