What is your nano novel about this year?
Mine is a ghost story of sorts, set in western Scotland, both in present day and the early years of the 1300's.
A single mother of five boys, whose life in the States has been severely undermined by her ex-husband, manages to buy a castle in Scotland (yeah, yeah, I'm still working on where a single mother gets that much money, lol! I've got a few ideas, but please feel free to throw ideas my way!) After signing papers and handing over the $$, she goes into the castle alone and finds she has a ghostly houseguest the realtor neglected to mention.
The story simultaneously follows the story of the woman who is haunting the castle, during her own lifetime 700+ years ago.

Mine is chick lit -- first chick lit I've ever written...
A woman travels across country to help a friend prepare for her wedding that the groom knows nothing about. She unexpectedly finds herself the confidant to a dying woman, reliving dangerous pasts and falling in love with the last person she ever expected to.
The poster is in the siggy.

Mine's a fanfiction (Stargate SG-1) so you have to know the show to get a lot of it.
Basically one of the main characters from the show "died" 7 months before the beginning of the story and while on a mission her commanding officer is sure he sees her amongst some prisoners they are trying to free.
Nobody believes him but his guilt at possibly leaving her behind won't allow him to let it go so he leaves Earth on a mission to find her having to work with an unwelcome ally. But finding her is only the beginning of their adventure. It breaks open a deep consipiracy that runs through the US military and government and brings back a plague that threatens to overtake the Earth.
Everyone has to work together to save the planet. Of course.
Funny thing is, that's the basic plot for just about every episode of the show. But it works so why change it.
The story gets really complicated later on as characters split off into groups and are trying to figure out their own mysteries but eventually they work their way back to the main base that has been taken over by aliens and are able to retake it and save the day.
Oh, and somewhere in there is a love story, too, because the two main characters have this crazy half-relationship. Their both military officers in a direct line of command so they've never been able to act on their feelings but they are always right there at the surface waiting to break free. Angst: it's what I write best.
Love SG-1.... Atlantis was my fave but SG-1 was totally awesome too!! :) I've never written fanfic... maybe I should try doing that sometime. :)

writing fanfiction is a lot of fun, especially if you didn't like how a plot line developed on a show. It's all about "what if". I also read it and there have been some great stories. I have actually read some stories that were better than the shows. I also read the actual novels they put out for the show (paid fanfiction, in my opinion) and some of the stuff I've read online is 10 times better than the sanctioned books (some of the writers they get obviously have never seen more than a handful of episodes).
I'll be posting my NaNo story at fanfiction.net when I'm done with it for anyone that wants to read it.

Mine is about Savanna "Savy" Edwards. She has just graduated from High School. The day of her graduation she finds out she is a time traveler. She travels back in time to 1978 and finds her Grams, who tells her just enough about time traveling to get her home and to agree to come live with her in the present day.
When Savy returns she realizes she has missed graduation and wonders what her parents will think about missing her validictorian speech. Only to find out she didn't miss it after all. Her parents caught the whole thing on tape.
Within days of graduation she is off to Grams, who lives across the country(I'm thinking Georgia, but I'm not sure...I have Georgia in the story right now, but I'm debabting whether or not to change it...cause I need specific landscape. But I'll figure that all out later!).
When she arrives at Grams she meets Finn Jacobs who is already madly in love with her. She of course has a hard time with the fact that her future self is in love with Finn...who kisses her the first time they meet; thinking she is future Savy.
Anyway...Finn has a note for present day Savy and it is she tells herself about an adventure(kind of a scavenger hunt through time...if you will) to locate tools she needs to perfect the craft of time travel. Without the tools Savy could ultimately get lost in time with no way of returning to her own present day.
Finn is her faithful sidekick as Savy begins her journey, not only to find the tools but to learn to love a man who is already hers.
Well...that's mine! I have the first 2 chapters up on my writing blog...click here...if you'd like to read it! They are very rough and need lots of attention...but I'm not quite ready to give them the attention they need right now!!! Enjoy!
Everyone's sound way awesome!

Mine is a twist on the zombie apocalypse. A virus has killed 60% of the population, and the other 40% became mindless zombies. The heroine is a pregnant woman named Gemini, and she meets up with a man named Jackson.

My novel is a fourth installment of The Three Musketeers. But this is from the daughter's point of view (all grown up). I started outlining the book, but unfortunately the more outlining I did the more rabbit trails I ended up with...I'm now working on my fourth rabbit trail...so I have no idea where it is going. but I'll update my blog as I do it!
Basic plot is set right around here (write what you know! LOL) in a time that has never really been explained. (I'm thinking she was born about the same time as me, but it really isn't pertinent to the story, so I haven't dealt with it yet). A 9 month old baby girl is found in the middle of a wheatfield one August by a farmer harvesting his fields. She is raised in an orphanage, growing up feeling different from all the other kids, except for one, Eric, who she connects with immediately. In 7th grade, during a unit on mythologies of the world, she is hit with the realization that they are being taught about her parents, Hades and Persphone. The rest of the story is about her coming to terms with her
"abandonment", Eric's own discovery about his parents (he had a similar abandonment story), and how they live the rest of their lives with this knowledge.
I'm pleased with the plot. Now hopefully I can do it justice!
I'm writing a sequal to Above the Dungeon, which is porn with plot. This time around it's more plot with porn. My super controlled Dungeon Master loses everything and has to rebuild everything.
