What are you goals today?

I ended Saturday at 14,159. I am going to try and see how much I can get done in an hour right now and then I'll see where I am and make a goal for tonight!

Good luck ladies! You are doing awesome!!

I'm a bit over 16,000 and hope to be at 20,000 by tonight.

My goal is 16,000 for today.  I want to be back on the 2,000 words/day track.

My goal is 2,000 words again. To be on track overall I need a lot more, but I'm not worried about "catching up". I'm just doing daily goals and if I meet enough of them, I'll make it!

I'm currently at 15,678. I am taking a break. Not sure if I'll get any time to write this afternoon, but I am for sure going to write tonight after JD goes to bed!

Good luck ladies!

I'm so frustrated right now.

I only wrote 250 or so words yesterday because I threw an impromptu birthday party for my middle daughter.  I had a houseful of kids most of the day, had to bake cupcakes, take pictures of the kids, etc.  Then my husband had to go to bed early because he had to be up at 3:30am for work.

Since I was so far ahead I wasn't too worried.

And then today I had to clean up the mess from last night.  Was going to make soup in the slow cooker so I had to get that ready.  Then we were out of milk so I had to go to the store which means walking a mile there and a mile back.  Had lunch and before I could finally sit down and start writing my husband came home early from work (was supposed to work a double).

He immediately turned the TV on.  Then he decided to take a nap so I couldn't type because it bothered him (he sleeps on the living room couch).  Then the kids came home so I had to help with homework and start dinner since my birthday girl decided she'd rather have cheeseburger pie instead of the soup (that was fine with me).  I got it in the oven and by then my husband was on the computer and wouldn't get off and was watching TV.

I tried to read through my print off of the story to get myself centered again and in a writing mood but I kept having to stop to help my 8yo with her homework or deal with the baby or finish another step for dinner.

Got dinner done and we all ate and since it's my dd's birthday we watched Toy Story 3.  That just got done a little after 7pm.  Now I have to get the kids to do their reading before bed, my husband is watching Bones and then he wants to go to bed because he has to get up at 3am again so I'm getting kicked out of the living room.

So I've gotten zero words done today and I'm still sitting at just over 20k.  I should be well on my way to 30k by now.

I can't even write now before he goes to sleep because I have to go put the food away and clean up the kitchen before he goes to sleep because the noise bothers him.

He keeps saying I can write on Wednesday but I know when Wednesday comes we'll have errands to run and then he'll want to sit in front of the TV the rest of the day or play Rock Band 3 which he will turn up super loud and the rest of the week will be that way (he has off until next Monday).

I'm ready to just give up.  It was stupid to even try this year.  No one in the family cares about this but me.  I was reading Chris Baty's book and there's a whole section about eliciting help from your supportive family to keep you on target.  But what happens when your family doesn't give a crap?  What if they actively try to stop you from writing because it takes away from the time you spend catering to them, paying attention to them?

And that's just from my husband.  Never mind the kids.  Grrr.

So my goal for today is to just write something.  It will probably be on paper so I won't increase my wordcount on the site but at least I'll write something.

Gotta go clean up the kitchen now.

That stinks. I started out my day similar. We have my brother and his family here(though they are visiting friends right now in town) and I would just sit down to write a little bit and my niece goes, "Aunt Sandy...will you play a game with me?"

She is four and I haven't seen her since January so of course I say "Sure!"

I still was able to get a some done when they left to visit my SIL's old work(a daycare) and my niece got to see a lot of her "school" friends. Then right before dinner(my mom cooked - we live with my parents and my mom and I take turns making dinner) I was able to finish the daily goal of 1667 and then some. I wrote over 2,000 today. Which was good but I felt like this stuff wasn't as good as the other day when I was on a roll! Saturday threw me off something awful, but I'm hoping that with my characters back on track that I will be too!!

Yeah, I lost one of my characters for a while!! Then he revealed through a letter that he wasn't really lost at all. Gotta love time travel!!

So, I am sitting at: 16,506 words as of right now and I quit about an hour ago to watch reruns of Buffy on Netflix!! My muse said she was done!! So, I'm not going to push it. I'll see how I feel in the morning after my brother and his family leave. Maybe I'll figure something out!

Good luck!

Can't go wrong watching Buffy.  I wish I had a TV in my bedroom.  I'd hunker down with my DVDs of Stargate.  That would put me back in the mood for my story.

GAH! The daylights time change is still effecting my word progress for the day.

I got all my words done for yesterday but it's 1110pm and it's saying that I have already written 570 for the day :(

I wanted  to get to 16000 before bed tonight, I still will but it will throw off my word count tomorrow.

ETA: If you hover your cursor over the blue line for 1 day it will tell you your word count :D

So yesterday it totaled 1726 words written :D

AHHHHHHHHHHH, I had my clock wrong LOL! I had it set for -600 from GMT not -700 from GMT. Now I just fixed it and it's erm, stuck at 1726 :( not 1726+ 147. I hope it reupdates and gives me the correct word count.

I made it! 2035 today! It came easy the other days. Today, not so much. I was plugging along checking my word count every so often. Then when I thought I was there and it felt like a good place to stop I checked my count....1997. My goal is 2000 a day! So I made myself write one more short paragraph! I actually only intended to write one simple sentence, but once I started the thought, it was easy and quick enough to finish.

:( Doesn't look like my siggy is reflecting my current count. It still shows red for today and my previous total. I'm at 7551. -- Yay, I fixed it. I had my time zone wrong somehow so it thought I was updating for Tue, rather than Mon.

I made it to 16141 today.  I'm quite happy with that.  It was about 2500 words or so.  I sure love Write or Die.  Definitely helps the evenings go faster!
