Word Count Goals - Day 15 - Halfway Point!

Whoa! We are at the halfway point!

Where do you want to be by the end of the day??

Me...I just want to be able to get in my 1667 for the day. But if I make it to 30,000 I will be very happy!! Unfortunatly I have a sick kid and he stayed home from school. So...I will be lucky if I get anything done. I also have to fill out my hardcopy of my paperwork for that open check mystery shop I did over the weekend and send it in the mail.

I decided to give myself the day out.  I spend my whole days worrying about finding time to write and never really get anything done and then I'm stressed and upset.  I'm at just over 30k right now so I have padding.

I plan to clean the kitchen (because we had freaking ants all over the place...again) and then I'm going to relax, watch my 4 taped episodes of Stargate Universe and work on my knitting that I've been neglecting because of NaNo.  If I get some writing done in between it will be a bonus.

I'm getting myself burnt out, I need a break.  Also need to remind myself that I only have 20k left to write...piece of cake.  I wrote the first 20k in 6 days.  :)

I'm so disappointed with myself this year. Last year I cranked out 50k in almost two weeks, this year I'm no where close to that. Heck, I haven't even broken the 10k line yet. However, last year I was a sahm to an elementary school child and had all day to write while she was at school, this year I'm working again and I work the longest hours plus have an hour commute home. I'm hoping that I can at least try to get caught up on my days off. So we'll see.

Finally made my word count goal today!! Whew!! I seemed a little stuck all day today. Then I watched an episode of Doctor Who and it all came together!! I'm not going to say which episode, cause then fans of the show would know the twist I put into my book and that would give it away and I want it to be a surprise!! Hehe!!

I made my 50K on Nov 8, got about another 3K and have totally stalled, partly due to not knowing myself what really happened with the two women (although I now know which one fell down the stairs and became the ghost) and partly due to preparing for a book signing this Friday while keeping up with work and kids.  I went back to writing another novel that also needs to get finished.  I'm hoping to get another few thousand words at least before the end of Nano, though.
