Whew! So, I was a bit stuck yesterday like I said. But now the story is just coming out full force and I totally did not see any of this when I started!! Haha! Don't you just love when a story does that??

Anyway...I finished the 1667 for today. I need to get some things done around the house, but I plan to write later!! Right now I am at 30,421! Yay for passing the 30K mark!!!

Where would you like to be by the end of the day?

Where do you think you'll be by the end of the day?

I would like to be as close to 32,000 as I can get if not over.

I might be able to make it there...but we shall see how the day goes! JD went to school today and that helped a lot to get the juices following.

Good luck today ladies! You can make it!!

I haven't written anything today.  Yesterday I took the day off to de-stress and today I just blew it off.  I knew I wouldn't get any writing done before the kids were in bed so I decided to not even think about it.  Now that it's bedtime I'm starting to prepare myself to write but I'll probably wait until hubby is home and just retreat to my room and do it by hand.  I don't get as many words but at least I can think.  I wish I could write as fast as I type, lol.  My hand can't keep up with my thoughts when it has a pen in hand instead of 2 hands hovering over the keys.  But I can't concentrate at the computer with the TV on and/or my husband snoring.

I usually get a good 1000 words by writing by hand.  The other night I did almost 2000 words, I think.  I had to stop mainly because my hand cramped up, lol.

My goal is to just finish up the chapter I was working on and start the next one.  I quit last time not really sure how I was going to get the character out of his predicament.  He's been abducted from his hideaway in Fiji and taken back to the states where he's now being held prisoner.  I left him in a bare room sitting on a chair and bored out of his mind waiting to be interrogated (he tells them it's very cliche).

He has to escape, steal a space ship and leave Earth so he can later help one of the other characters on a rescue mission.

Just not sure how he's going to escape.  If I can't really decide I might just skip ahead and go back to it later.  I have a lot of other stuff going on...another character is in a secret abandoned labratory on another planet trying to figure out what happened to a teammate they thought has been dead for the last 7 months.

His other teammates are looking for him (on the wrong planet) and are about to discover there's a conspiracy going on.

Plus there's the character they're looking for who is having her own adventure...if you can call being abducted, tortured and enslaved an adventure.

Good luck, Jen! Sounds like you have lots of things going on!!

Well...I sort of resolved the antagonists problem with my protagonist. It is now time to explain everything. Then tie up all the loose ends and do my final scene which will tie up the first timey wimey loose end at the very beginning of the book!! I am sitting at 31,542 and I'm thinking it will take at least a couple thousand to fully explain everything. Then Finn has to take Savy to their spot, build a fake Tardis for her, and that should take another couple thousand. Savy needs to visit a few places to make her timeline complete(to explain loose ends!), they need to find Grams still, and that should take another couple thousand.

Hopefully add that all up and it will be about 10,000-15,000 words and then the final scene should take about 5,000 words to wrap everything up in a nice bow! If I end and my word count is still low, I am going to just start the adding of detail part which will put me above the 50,000; hopefully!!!

I hope that made sense!!

The talk of timey wimey and dr. who just had me thinking of him meeting River Song (Alex Kingston character) but never in the right order.  That always cracked me up.

I got my 10yo hooked om Dr. Who and it took forever to explain that relationship, lol.  She was mad when we moved: we dont get BBC anymore.

Oh, and I think your point about there being a lot going on in the story is my main problem.  There is just so much information to get through that I'm getting bogged down in the details.  But I know I have to get through all the little stuff to get to the big stuff otherwise the story will feel rushed.  I read a lot of fanfics leading up to NaNo and kind of took note of things I liked in the stories (and there is an amazing amount of GOOD SG-1 fanfic out there if you know where to look).  I found I really like a good action/adventure team fic with touches of angst and pairing up stuff (although I also like other kinds of stories--it really depends on my mood).  I also like stories that get really involved, are long (I purposefully search out stories that are like 40 chapters or over 100k words) and have good build up to the action stuff, a nice twist, etc.  Stuff that mimics the show.  Again, not that other kinds of stories are bad (I enjoy them, too) but..,

So I'm trying to reach out of my safety zone, so to speak.  Normally I write really angsty stuff (probably my favorite to read over all) with just a touch of the other stuff.  I'm really trying to focus on having an overall plot, not just...how do I hook up my favorite couple since the writers of the show never did.

This story is going to take an amazing amount of revising.  I'm normally one of those perfectionist writers.  When I write fanfiction I rarely have to revise.  I just go over the story for spelling/grammar errors for the most part but it stands as I wrote it and that's how I put it online.

This one I'm already sure I will have to rework a lot of scenes, rearrange things for better flow.  I'm almost as excited to revise as to do the first draft (that's a scary thought).  I don't expect to finish writing it until the end of December most likely and then another few months to edit it and maybe find someone to beta it for me.

They have it online and it is actually better to watch online because that way you get to watch 2-3 weeks before it airs in America!!! So, I'd totally search for it online. I use videostic.com and surfthechannel.com

I watched all of the new series(1-5) from April-July so it was all in my head one night and I had a dream about a time traveling girl. My MC's love interest is a huge huge huge Dr. Who fan. He likes to tell Savy(MC) "Spoilers" if she asks about something that has already happened to them. But she ends up being able to say it back to him at least once!!! I am planning on throwing a few more Dr. Who quotes in there somewhere, but haven't had the right chances; yet!!

"Spoilers"...love it.  It took forever to explain that to my dd.  She just didn't get it during that library episode (which was one of the first she ever watched...then she didn't want to go to sleep, lol).  But then when she saw River come back in the new season she right away yelled, "spoilers".  I was cracking up.  I never got to see all of the last season.  I had them recorded on my DVR in Chicago.  My dd watched them all I think.  I remember she was mad when it got to the finale so quickly.  I preferred David Tennant so I wasn't so invested in the new series.  I liked Amy, though, and her boyfriend.  My dd kept having to explain what was going on because I missed so many episodes.

My kids are absolutely obsessed with weeping angels.  Actually the first time my dd watched the weeping angels episode (from season 3 I think) she kind of freaked out then told her younger siblings about it and next thing I knew I had 4 kids that were having nightmares and refused to go to bed.  I almost forbid them to watch that 2 parter in the new season but they loved it and it alleviated their fears.  Crazy kids.

Matt Smith grew on me as the season progressed. He brings his own Doctorness to the table that I am enjoying. Though I do like DT and was a little upset when I heard he wasn't coming back for the 5th season.

That's funny about your kids!! JD loves the Tardis and the opening credits!! He has this box of mini-jenga blocks and it is blue!! He will go around the house pretending he is flying the Tardis...it is so stinkin' cute!!

I'm sure you could find the episodes you missed online! And I've heard that they air episodes on PBS at like midnight or something. I'd check into that too! Not sure what episode they are on...though they are lots of fun to watch over and over!!

Okay...so what are everyones goals for today? I decided we can just continue on, in this post maybe even until the end of the month. We'll see!!

I would like to get to 34,000 or as close as I can. 35,000 would be nice, but I don't want to push it and I have tons to do today!! If it comes out great...if not...great!!

Good luck ladies! I know you can make it; no matter where you are in your word count!!

Okay, I'll I did was finish up my last chapter.  I didn't even get the character to escape but I got him up to the point of the beginning of torture (it's more psychological, so nothing graphic).  I didn't get to type it up yet but it's probably just a couple hundred words.  I did plan out the next chapter and made some notes about things that had to happen in the next few chapters.

I'll hopefuly get the next chapter written tonight.

Okay, I got down to business this afternoon.  I retreated to my bedroom and wrote the next 2 chapters.  I'm getting ready to type it in now to see how many words I got.  The 22nd chapter was really long so I should have a good word count.

I have only written like...150 words today. It is my best friends b-day today and I debated for most of the day if I should call her or just say HB on FB. I did call her and I'm glad I did! I miss her a bunch.

It is also the anniversary of my Grandpa's passing. I was eleven when it happened, but I still think about him a bunch. I'm glad that I have my BFF's b-day on this day, though!

Anyway, I did some planning(yes...me, I did some planning out of what I need to finish!) and I now have a list of what needs to be finished. Oh, and a new "mission" presented itself last night while I was writing so hopefully that will up my word count! So...that makes me happy! Now if I just had the motivation to write! I at least need to get the daily word count in so I can get my green box for the day!!

I'm going to spend five more minutes on CM and then I will start writing!!
