Hello and welcome!

This is actually the first time I have decided to participate in NaNoWriMo.  I started this group in the hopes of finding other NaNo writers!  I don't normally consider myself to be very creative, but I am trying to overcome that.  So, NaNo is quite the personal challenge for me!!

So, come on in!  Introduce yourself!  Have some fun!  I imagine with a good group of writers, our forums could get quite entertaining!!

Um.  Hi I'm known as "Sweet" De or just De in these here parts.  I've never even heard of NaNoWriMo - but I've written two novels - the first took me 10 years, the 2nd took me 18 months.  And the 2nd was WAY better.  Both vampire novels with gay characters.

I've had zero luck getting an agent or publisher though, and i've had 2 novel ideas gently floating in my brain for about a year now, so I'd like to get them written down.

Hmm... November.... that's deer season, right?  Heck, good timing - my best friend will be gone every weekend so I'll have lots of time to devote to writing...

Welcome!  And, thanks for joining!  I just posted an explanation of the NaNoWriMo challenge, along with the link to the official website.  In case you want to check it out!

Vampires huh?  I love those stories, I just got done reading a series of novels by Nora Roberts about vampires.

Keep on writing, I'm sure you'll find a publisher soon!!  Nobody ever said it would be easy, right?

Hi, I'm Sandy I am trying to break into the LDS/Mormon Romantic Fiction market. I have written a novel and I am in the editing stages and hope(this being the key word!) that I'll have it to publishing companies by the end of the year. HA, that's what I said last year!!!
Anyway it's a mystery of sorts and the characters are LDS/Mormon. It does take place in Utah, but I never really put an exact location in the book. It takes you on a ride from the first chapter to the last. It starts with a man who wants to propose, but his girlfriend is on a business trip. When he goes to pick her up from the airport she isn't there. She has been kidnapped. The reason she is in Utah is because she is in the witness protection program. She was a witness to her own brother's murder. The guy that kidnapped her was working for the man who they put in jail for the brother's murder. The guy knows his boss didn't do anything wrong so She and the guy try to find the real killer, all the while Cody(the main guy) is frantically looking for her. Everyone who has read it loves it!!!

Thanks Sarah for starting this. I'm from the Religous Debate Group and saw your link for this group. I signed up for this like three months ago and totally forgot about it!! So, this will be a great outlet for me!!! In addition to the one book I've finished the writing stage, I have like 10 or more ideas that I have started!!! Including a sequel to the first one!!!

Thanks again,
Sandy

I saw your link in the religious debate group and I wanted to join. I am an english/creative writing major working towards my bachelors degree. (My name is Sarah too by the way!) I have always been an avid reader and a writer of poetry. I have recently started writing fiction, I want to write scifi/fantasy novels. I started a story and I wanted to write a senior honors thesis for my school but was basically told it wasn't good enough. But I'm not gonna let one persons opinion get me down, I am gonna keep trying and eventually finish my story and hopefully many others! Maybe I will post what I have on here so you guys can tell me what you think. It got good reviews in my fiction class last semester. I havent really heard much about nano wrimo, but it sounds really interesting! I am gonna read up on the link u posted. Thanks for starting this group!

Hi Sandy!  I recognize you from the debate group!  Glad you decided to join me here!  Your story sounds really great, hope you find a publisher.  I have no idea what is involved in publishing a book!!  Start mulling over some of those ideas that you have floating around in your head.  November will be here before you know it!

Hey!  I recognize you from the debate group too!  The signature works, huh?  Glad you guys found me here!

That's awesome that you are worked towards that degree.  This will be a good exercise for you then, won't it??  It will be difficult, I'm not arguing that.  But, it will be worth it, right??

I have a feeling we will all be going through lots of coffee during November!  I have to wonder, if this NaNo thing gets any bigger, do you think that Starbucks will notice increased profit during November every year?  Who knows, maybe they've noticed it already??

And, I would love to read what you have, whenever you feel ready to post it!

Hi!

My name Cheryl and I am Sarah's mother.  I've looked at this idea before, but never committed to actually going through with it.  I've not written anything yet, but have several ideas that I haven't been able to get past page 10.  Don't know how I will make it to 176 pages!  Maybe I am better suited to short stories.

This should be a fun project.  Not sure what my story will be yet.  I  live in my motorhome and spend my time travelling the country -- you'd think I would have all kinds of stories in my head.

Good luck to all of us!

I'm so glad you found the group too!  Nice to have a member who has already participated in the past!  Thanks for the tips in the resources thread, those are great ideas!  And, I probably never would have thought of them.

Welcome!!
