so i was wondering cause its been so long since i had my daughter   could you decribe what it felt like when you were in labor my dr says that its much like what i have been going through but then again he dont know what i been feeling and he is also a guy so he has never been through it. what i have been feeling can best be decribed like menstral cramps / baby is streaching out to fullest reach/ really full tummy/ sharp pains in my tail bone and pubic bone...... i know my dr says i have dielated some and that he is pretty sure ill have baby in next week but chris only has 2 days off a week and his boss is really not cool with him missing work untill baby is really here so going up to hospital to just check and see if im having true contractions is not really an option. also did you feel like a pop or feel anything when your water broke was there any lighter feeling in your belly? im real worried ill go in to true labor while asleep do you think that possible?

From what I remember, contractions feel like bad mentral cramps.  I had two contractions when I was sleeping.  They woke me up and I thought, what the hell was that and just rolled over and went back to sleep.  With your water breaking, I'm not sure if there is a pop or not.  When I had a leak in my fluid with Clay, it felt like dripping inside of me.  It's kind of hard to explain.  If you are leaking fluid or suspect that you are you NEED to be checked out just in case.  Because if you are you need to deliver with in a certain time frame otherwise you risk infection.  I'd say call your doc and get checked out.  Good luck! ;)

Labor pain feels like menstral cramps that start out in your back and radiate towards your belly as the contraction progresses. If it increases in frequency like every ten min and intensifies pain wise I would start getting ready to goto the hospital. As far as water breaking ...for my first child I only srung a leak lol for one of my others it just burst.  Good luck!

Hi!  I know it's been years since I had my kids, but you really never forget.  Anyway, with my first, my water broke.  Actually, it felt like I had to go pee really badly and then it just kinda gushed out.

With my second,  I had a backache that would not go away.  I went to bed, cause it was late, and then got up cause I couldn't sleep and then paced, sat, got up and paced some more, did it a couple more times, so that my husband starting timing them.  I was getting up every 3 minutes to pace.

Call the maternity unit and speak with one of the nurses.  Let her know the frequency and duration of the contractions (cramps) and how strong they are and ask her opinion.  Since they will be the ones checking on you til it's time to deliver the baby, she will have a pretty good idea of how far into labor you are and if you should head in or wait a while longer.  Any bleeding head straight in.

The boss will deal with the problem.  My son's boss didn't want to let him go either (cause so many people called out of work that night), but one of the women in the office yelled at him and told him it wasn't my son's problem as to who did not show up for work...he had to leave.

Good luck and keep us posted!
