What do you like about your online education?

For me I love the fact that I can do my school work and my homework when it is convenient for me. I work full time and have 5 kids so it is very hard to take the kids to a babysitters after being away from them all day, plus I don't think I could afford that.

It really depends on the school. Most community colleges offer many online classes and in california the cost is $20 per unit and most classes are 3 units, so that means about $60 per class. If you already have your AA then it gets a little more expensive and so it is best to do some research. They are usually anywhere from about $200-$700 per unit. ouch!!! There are plenty of grants and loans available. I would check in to grants first since these don't have to be paid back. Most schools well help you fill out these forms. If you are looking for books I always try to look for used books and the best site I have found is Half.com

Hi. I love that I can work at my own pace, pretty much. I love that I don't have to leave my kids. I love that my kids see me succeeding! I love that I am meeting new people, even though that's virtual. I love that I am doing so well! I love that I am finding out things I didn't know about myself! I love doing something so worthwhile for myself!

I work at night so I can do my homework inbetween the actual job.  The other alternative is to watch tv all night long so I have told work it is more productive for me to be in school.  Then I can come home get some sleep once the kids get off to school or grandma's house.  I go pick them up in the afternoon and I get to spend the evening with the family.  So I love the fact that it does not take away from my time with the family.

What I like the most is to have the freedom of chosing when to do your homework or attending classes. For example, during an online class you have to log in and participate in some forums at least twice per week. No matter at what time you do it. While if you go to a campus one, with kids, husband, pets,, full time jobs, etc, you don't have that flexibility.
