I teach preschool and because there is always new studies being done and new research we are very much encouraged to take classes. In fact most of the people that I am working with are also taking classes. In January of each year we get to turn in all of our units and then we get a 1% raise for each 3 unit class. It makes it a little more worthwhile. I am turning in 12 units so I am pretty excited to be getting a little raise.

Yes and no. . . my employment talks the talk but really they don't want the lower workers moving up.  So if you do end up with a degree that should promote you to a better job they tend not to give it to you.  They claim to also do school reimbursements but then encourage the supervisors not to do anything with the employees information.  So it is like they encourage it in words but discourage it by their actions.

Yes and no too!!! I'm a teacher. As a teacher you must have some many credits and masters and more and more education. They do give a raise but at the end what you have spent in education (that is requiered to get certify) doesn't even match your salary. So they want us to have all this and it is not even rewarding ($$$$$) talking
