I'm wondering what a reasonable price is to pay for a mural.  Meaning if I just want something on one wall, how do I know if people are giving me a good quote, or if they are trying to cheat me!?!  I'm new here, and I've looked at the pictures you have posted to the group, and some of you are AMAZING!!!  They are all so creative, but the talent in this group... wow!  I'm sure some of you do this for a living...  So how do you charge people?  Or those of you who paid for a mural, where did you find an artist, and how do I make sure I'm not being cheated?

Depending on the artist, some charge by the hr. some by the sq. foot. It also depends on your area. A mural in Louisiana will obviously be less that one in Los Angeles. I charge $30-$60 a sq. ft, depending on the subject and location. Detailed, tromp loi, copy of photo or person are the higher priced ones. Simple (cartoon, baloons and flowers, etc) are less expensive. Anything on a celing, or involving ladders or scaffolding increase the price as well. Hope this helps.

You can find "murals" online.  Like big stickers or something like that, or someone has painted on a canvas that you put up like wall paper.  There was a post about it a while back.  It should be easy to find.

Or try to do it yourself!!  You can do it!  Just try it.  Be realistic with what you think you can do, it will look great!
