I have two boys who currently share a room, one is 17 months and the other is almost 3 months. I thought it would be fun to redo their room in a Harley Davidson theme but can't seem to find anything cute online. At some point in the near future we are planning to remodel where the boys will have their own room so I'm not sure how much I want to redo if at all. Anyone have any ideas? Should I redo totally, not redo and just wait or redo a little? The room is now a baby theme as we did not know the sex of the boys until they were born so lots of lambs, ducks and the color green. Thanks for the input. Liisa

That's a tough question!!  I think it depends how much you enjoy decorating - I personally would be inclined to wait until the remodeling is done and then go all out and make the rooms great - but then they change their minds and grow out of it and you have to change anyway....... so that isn't maybe the best answer

The most important thing is that you have fun and your boys like their room, and fortunately with kids, it is pretty easy to make them happy!

I am curious to see what other people think -

I know I love to re-decorate but it can be very costly. Soooo
I would re-do a little. I would maybe paint the walls, that is cheap and easy to re-do again, but also gives the room a new look all on it's own.  Maybe buy some inexpensive decor, maybe in a sport theme. I know you can find real inexpensive stuff through LTD Commodities, as well as on ebay.   I'm an ebay freak!

I think the sports theme can go for both a baby as well as a 3 year old but I know it's something I wouldn't want to live with forever and this way it's temporary.

I also think a jungle theme would be cool.  You can paint the room neutral get a couple of wood shelves and put stuffed jungle animals on it. There is soooo much leopard safari, zebra, and all kinds of wild animal prints out.  sssshhh!  I'm a leopard/zebra freak too.  My living room, master bedroom and master bath is done in leopard and my daughter's room is done in hot pink and zebra.  I love it!

Anyway, if you decide to change it and go with a theme, let me know if you need any help searching for inexpensive room decor....LOL!!!  I'd love to do it for you, it's so much fun!

Happy Decorating!!!!

It would be so easy to redo your children's room in a Harley theme.  There are so many things out there that are Harley. I wouldn't even hesitate. If you are even thinking about it. That means you should. If you were totally happy with what you have. You wouldn't be thinking of it.

PAINT THOSE WALLS,         :)

    :)               CHANGE THE BEDDING,

DESIGN THAT ROOM,           GO HOG WILD,...

(no pun intended!)     :o

            AND ENJOY THE PROCESS!!!          :)

       :)          GO FOR IT!

At Lowes, you can get wallpaper that simulates diamond plate. That would be cool to do the bottom half of the walls in. And there's sooo much out there. You can get Harley Davidson stuff at the dollar store these days! I say do it!

You could paint the walls bright orange, buy sheets of chrome diamond plate at lowes and put it on the lower part of the walls or even as a border around the top of the walls...make a bed out of chrome pipes.  You could do lots of things with stuff from the hardware store...Depending on how much you wanted to spend, you could even try to find an old motorcycle on craigslist for pretty cheap (obviously, it would be not running) and if your husband is handy, take it apart, clean the pieces up and use them as art work!

Ohhh those are all great ideas, love them!  Thanks ladies!  I also was thinking that when they are old enough for a toddler (my oldest is) or twin beds I wanted to make them both a comforter out of daddy's old Harley t-shirts.

My husband is a Harley Mechanic and when we moved I suprised him by painting the Harley symbol on my daughters wall (the walls are a pale vintage pink and the symbol is off white) It was super easy to do. And took up a large portion of the wall. Nothing else in her room is harley though. Everything else is super girly!

I love the idea of a Harley theme. I did a little googling and found some things that might come in handy for you. Also, you might want to check with a Harley store, if you have one nearby, and see if they would give up some old store posters or anything that you could frame....and they may even have useless parts that you can use as artwork, as suggested earlier.

Here's what I found:

Target online has a ton of stuff:

...and there's always Ebay!

Have fun and post pics when you are all done. I can't wait to see it!
