Hiya! Thanks for the invite, Christy!
I'm Char... mom to four energetic rugrats and wife to one super awesome man, Mike, lol. We live in a really, really small town in ND. As far as my artistic side goes, I love photography, photo manipulation, writing and anything that can be done with Paint Shop Pro. I bite at anything hands on - the last time I tried to help one of my kids with an art project, I ended up with a popsicle stick glued to my butt and an eyebrow full of glitter. I'm still not sure how it happened, lol. I'm so jealous of those of you who can draw and paint and stuff! That amazes me! Looking forward to getting to know people here :) If you'd like to take a look at my work, I have an online gallery at http://www.charmed-n-dangerous.deviantart.com/gallery/ . Thanks again for inviting me! Char |

Hi Folks! Small group! I'm Tori - I worked for about 12 years as an illustrator for a medical company - now I'm a Stay at Home Mom - but I do freelance artwork on the side. I'm currently working on a project for reproductive issues with a surgeon here in Cincinnati. Beyond that - I have two little website of my own where I sell some of my creations - they're listed on my profile, if you'd like to have a look!
I do a lot of work on the computer - I'd be happy to try and help with any issues people may be having with their computers concerning working with graphics or photos. Take care, all! Tori |

Checked out your group, this is great, I am Grandma to 13, soon to be great-G, and mother of 6 grown-ups.
While my kids were small, I bought pieces of chain from Ace Hardware, and hung a tray from the ceiling for my paints and other equipment. The easel only fell over once, and it wasn't tragic. So I kept painting. Had a combination of college art classes, and private lessons. A lot of self teaching while kids were in school. After they left I would set timer and paint (i.e.: for eight months I did portraits, etc) for 3-6 hours a day. Have received awards for some paintings, and my kids were always my best critics. My art and supplies went up in an apt. fire about 15 years ago and it took about 4 years to pick up any supplies and start again. I did pen and ink, landscape, then used house paints to paint landscapes, barns, and murals, signs, and painted figures and designs on antique furniture and jewelry boxes. Then I spent a while carving stone sculptures. Later I drew color books and caricatures for daycare, (visual aids). About 7 years ago, I moved to Sedona AZ for 4 years. My house sale didn't close for five months, so everything was in storage. At that point I took up gel pens , and (mostly on black background) I started putting together a collection of pictures that were mostly women of different backgrounds, and cultures. I reversed the process, and colored in the solid parts, leaving the black where I wanted the outlines. These drawings, and later black and white larger drawings became my family, my muses and my therapy. I thought I was going to put the B&Ws on the computer and color them that way. My cats knocked my scanner off the counter onto the floor, and my printer went on the blitz, and there was this chain of events that made me decide that I was going to go back to painting by hand. Like, "screw" technology, attitude!!! Haven't gotten the supplies together yet to paint, but have watercolors right nearby for the odd time when I am not on this site and reading or posting. I had put together several notebooks, and portfolios with over 300 originals of women (or muses), and I know I need to move to a next level. Medical concerns held me up recently, I'm getting better so it's time.....Glad to find this site, I think it will be encouraging. |

Hi, I'm Julie, a stay at home mom to two little boys. I draw and paint. I've had some commissions recently, and I'm going to sell some drawings and knitted folk dolls at a big expo-mart craft fair type exhibit this October. I'd like to hear from other artist-mommies, how they keep their energy levels and inspiration going when they're up to their elbows in poopy diapers and play-doh! I have some of my portraits on my profile page. I also have a site where I sell prints of my drawings- http://julieschuler.imagekind.com/SchulerGallery.
