We're focusing on Community Helpers, Emergency (injury) as well as emotions this month:

Careful - ‘k' hands bounce against each other (dominant hand on top) a few times.

Police - tap the ‘c' hand to the upper left chest twice (where the badge would be located)

Mailman(woman) - touch thumb of ‘a' hand to the lower lip drawing it down to the open non-dominant hand (letter). Double ‘a' hands, tap the dominant inside wrist to the non-dominant thumb a couple of times (work). Double ‘b' hands, palms face each other, draw both straight down like outlining a person (person)

Fire - palms facing you, flickering your fingers a bit move one hand up and down (alternating) to represent the fire

Fireman(woman) - with a ‘b' hand touch the meaty part of the thumb to the forehead, representing the tall hat.

Army/Military - double ‘a' hands held a few inches in front of the side of the chest (like holding a rife strap over your shoulder) thump hands to chest a couple of times.

Help - non-dominant hand lays palm up, dominant hand in an ‘a' hand. Lay dominant hand on the palm of non-dominant - the thumb of dominant points toward the ceiling.

Pain (boo-boo) - soft ‘g' hands. Pointer fingers point toward each other, bounce closer and apart. To specify body part that's hurt hold hands in front of that part and do the sign for pain (like if your child hurt their knee, they should do the sign for pain in front of the knee.)

Bandage - non-dominant hand lays kind of limp, palm down. Dominant hand in an ‘h' hand. Lay pointer and  middle finger tips against the back of the non-dominant hand. Draw them across the back of hand, like laying a bandaid

Excuse - non dominant hand lays palm up, dominant in a gentle 'c' just swipes across the palm a couple of times.

Find - Pinch the pointer and thumb together as you lift the hand a few inches (like your finding something and lifting it up)

Large - both hands in ‘L' with the pointer and thumbs bent just a little. Draw the hands away from each other - the further they draw away the bigger you're representing. The ‘l' comes from the idea of largeness.

Feel - Touch the middle finger to the center of the sternum and sweep it up a couple of inches a few times.

Happy - scoop dominant hand up the sternum, like brushing off a piece of lint but going up. (for Happy Birthday, like in the song, scoop 2 hands in a circular motion in front of you)

Sad - similar to tired. Use both hands to draw down the face, making a sad face.

Mad - making a mad face, draw a ‘claw' hand down the front of the face.

Angry - double claws rake up the front of your torso (so angry you're sick to your stomach kind of thing)

Afraid/Scared - Double ‘s' hands slam toward each other flicking the fingers open

Silly - make a ‘y' hand, flick the thumb across the tip of the nose a couple of times.

Awful - middle finger fingernail touches thumb (like to flick a bug). Make an awful type face as you flick the fingers open wide as you lift the hands a bit.

Awesome - same hand as awful except you make a different facial expression on can use only one hand. To exaggerate awesome (like really awesome) then you can use both hands like awful.

Bad - hand in a relaxed ‘b'..touch tips of fingers to the mouth, then bring it out and down to lay fingers along the palm of your open, upturned non-dominant hand. Like wiping a bad taste off of your mouth

Funny - making an ‘h' hand flick the side of the top of the nose a few times.

Crying - making a sad face use fingers to represent tear drops.

Tired - Gently draw hand down the front of the face as you droop your head - like the hand is pulling all the energy out of you.

Sorry - rub ‘a' hand in front of the heart.

Please - rub a ‘b' hand in front of heart.

Appreciate/Enjoy - same sign as ‘please' except you use both hands
