this time 4 years ago......
I was in the hospital holding my beautiful baby girl. She was born on May 14th at 11:45 p.m. and I can see it plain as day!! they say you don't remember much of the labor and the after math but I do. For both my kids I do. And I can also see my mom (just as pretty as ever) sitting in the chair holding her first grandchild with a smile so big her cheeks should have popped!! I miss her and I know she misses us. Anyway..... my beautiful little blue eyed blond haired little angel. I can't believe she is 4. it seems like it was just yesterday. Like i said I can still see it all. holding her not wanting to put her down. Scarred thinking how am I going to be able to protect her the rest of her life and will I do a good job? Will she love me just as much as I love her. Will she understand that I still love her even when I have to punish her. Being a new mother I was scarred to death!! BUT so far so good huh? She's still walking and talking I guess! She has manners and of course she can be so dang hard headed that I just want to scream!! And I wouldn't change it..she is very independent but still needs mommy to do some things for her. She might cry when I pick her up from Grand-Linda's (her grandmother) because she doesn't want to go home with me and yes sometimes it hurts my feelings but I know she loves me. She'll say out of the blue mommy I like you (her way of saying I love you!!) Or here mommy I drew this picture just for you make sure you hang it up for everyone to see alright? The other night I had a migraine and she kept checking one me. what was so funny is I woke up to find little stickers all over me!! She was trying to make me feel better!! She had covered me up and gave me her rag to hold (her blankie it's very precious to her). She's so sweet and keeps saying when I grow up I"m going to be a doctor. she has said this pretty much since she could talk. I tell her that yes she will be and she will be the best doctor that there is!! I just can't believe my baby girl is 4. Next year there will be 5 and then school starts. I've got a year to prepare myself for that but I don't think it's going to work. I get tears just thinking about it!! See there i go!! HA!! she will be going to preschool in the fall and is very excited about that!! she is my sweet heart and always will be!! I love you Kaleigh Marie Monk!! happy birthday!!
