  • My husband actually picked out her name, and I loved it too!  It's nice to see someone else with the same spelling.  We're from MA, and so many people look at us funny when we tell them how we spell it...lol

  • My middle name is Leigh, and I wanted my daughter to be named after me.  Her name is Kaleigh.  My name came from Jamie Lee Curtis.  My mom liked the name, but since her brother's name is Lee she wanted to spell it different.

  • Am I the only one with a Y in the KAYLEIGH?? I love the Y! Maybe its just me..
Anyways I am the one who picked out the name Kayleigh.. Ive always wanted either Kayleigh, Ashleigh, Haleigh for my daughters name *i chose this like 5 years before i even got prego lol* And I knew a girl named Kayleigh when I was younger, and then met back up with her in Cosmetology school.. and she was just sooo sweet, and i loved her to death! sooo the name Kayleigh is my daughters name.. Because Haley *still Haleigh* is Eminem's daughters name *and i dont want my daughter to think I named her after his daughter* and I knew a girl named Ashleigh.. and i love that name.. but a lot of kids have the name Ashley/Ashleigh so i went with Kayleigh.. And i love it i love it i love it.. and everyone in our family loves it! so thats her name! haha

I have the Y in my KaYleigh's name.

I love the song Kayleigh by Marillion.  Always wanted to use it.  When I finally had a girl, it was very important to dh to name her after his grandma, so we did, and her middle name is after my grandma because Kayleigh is too pretty for a middle name.  When we were discussing names for our last baby, the girl was going to ge Genevieve Ione after the other grandmas.  Well...suprise, twins...The boy name of Kendric was very important to dh.  He was born in Scotland, and his late stepfather who was so much in his life was Kenneth.  Kendric is Scottish for Kenneth.  He wanted matching initials for the twins, and since Marillion is a Scottish band, they used the Scottish spelling, and I got my Kayleigh.  Her middle name is Rose, because our oldest is Lilly and he wanted to stick with the theme, and to be very feminine.  Her twin brother's middle name is Rebel.

  • Ok..... Here's my long and drawn out story! :)

First of all my parents named all of their girls with the first inital of K ... Kimberlee, Kristen, and Kathryn.  I liked that idea - except for when they were mad at us and couldn't spit out the right K name! :)

When I was pregnant with my oldest daughter I thought long and hard about a name for her.  I wanted it to be meaningful.  My Grandmother's name is Cora. My best friend (or used to be) is Lesley but we always called her Lee.  My sister Kim and I *used* to be close and her middle name is Michele. So... The 3 most important women in my life became my daughter's name.

      Cora-Leigh Michele (Cori for short)

Then when I was pregnant with my second baby I wanted another "Leigh" name.  I knew alot of "Haley's & Ashley's" and they were always snobs.. plus it wasn't a unique name.  I wasn't as creative with my second child because it got down to the wire and I needed a name for her.  My Grandmother suggested Sara Lee and I said "My baby isn't a pound cake!" .... So at the last minute I named her after my two sisters.

       Kimberleigh Renee' (Kimi for short)

I've always said that I want Wesley Michaux for a boy if I ever have one because 1) Wesley is my older brother's name and Michaux was my Grandfather's middle name and his Mother's maiden name. 2) It went with my lee/leigh/ley names! :)

I got pregnant again and hubby didn't want to use Wesley and we were unable to come up with a Ley/Lee name for a boy so when and if we have a boy (unless there are twins or we have another boy down the road) his name will be          Roman Michaux   ......

Well... We had a baby girl!  I had several names floating in my head like KyLeigh, Kayleigh/Cayleigh, and Ryleigh.  We both agreed on a name and out daughter was named....

                  Ryleigh Nicole

    Ryleigh has passed away at 5 months.  February 8, 2007 - July 8, 2007.

We were already talking about names for the next one before Ry passed away and this is what we have come up with for another girls name...

Either Emma-Leigh or Jo-Leigh  ... not sure on whether to use the hyphens or not.

I have no idea why I like the "Leigh" name so much.... guess it's becuase it's such a pretty name!
