Ticket price increase and brief weekend recap

Hi, everyone!

It's been a while since I've checked in, but wanted to let you know that the base ticket price at Walt Disney World is now $79 for an adult + tax. That is up from the $74 price earlier this year.

We took hubby to Disney World for his birthday this weekend, and he kept teasing me that he got $5 more on his birthday gift card than I got on mine in Jan. LOL!

On a side note, the parks were "hopping" this past weekend! It was the last weekend of the Food & Wine festival in Epcot, so Epcot was pretty crowded, but not unmanageable. We basically just went for dinner, and to ride Alyssa's favorite "Donald Duck Boat Ride" (as she calls it) in Mexico.

We went to Magic Kingdom on Saturday, and I was surprised to see the crowds so heavy. Again, it was fairly manageable, though, and we took our time just strolling along in the park, and had a little picnic in Liberty Square while we watched the new New Orleans style performance (based on the upcoming Princess and the Frog movie) on the Liberty Square Riverboat.

I was surprised that there was an actual LINE for the people mover in Tomorrowland and the line for the Haunted Mansion was past the entrance to the Liberty Square riverboat.

Big Thunder Mountain broke down when my little girl and hubby were at the top, in the first car. They were escorted down the mountain and "behind the scenes" by a cast member. My 3-year-old was so excited, and when she came out she told me "Mama! WE broke Thunder Mountain!" LOL!

Oh, and for those of you going to the WDW parks between now and Nov. 22, take you admission ticket to one of the major stores in any of the parks (Mouse Gears or World Traveller in Epcot, Emporium in MK, etc.) and you can get a voucher for $8 off the price of a child's movie ticket for the Princess and the Frog, at participating theaters between 12/11 and 12/31. Limit 1 voucher per adult ticket.

I'll post some pics from this weekend a little later.

How fun to break Thunder Mountain!  We are going to be there 11-27 - 12-04.  We were there the same time you were last year, you guys were camping.  Will you guys be there any of those days this year?  My daughter will turn 13 on 12-02.  She is so excited to be getting the gift card too.  I keep teasing her that I am the one who gets it for putting up with her for 13 years and taking her to Disney World 2 years in a row for her birthday.   I think it is awesome that she will get an extra $5.00 on that gift card.  Is it a normal time for them to raise ticket prices???

On another note how is Alyssa doing?  My son Thomas started Kindergarten this year and gets pulled 3 days a week for speech.  He is really doing well and improving allot!  I wonder about you guys from time to time.  I have not really been on here in a long time.
