Not that I am a Disney expert, but there were 13 of us and we had a blast! I've included some pictures of our fantastic trip!
Feel free to ask me anything!
One thing I would caution you against is linking your hotel/park cards to credit or debit cards. My husband was getting two cookies and two hot chocolates for the kids and had his card in his hand. Some guy plowed into him spilling all of the hot chocolate all over him. My husband was so flustered and apologetic to all of the people who were now wet that it took him a minute to realize that the guy stole his card. They immediatley found the survellience footage of him and he admitted to doing it on purpose...he was kicked off Disney property. So please, becareful.
Now that wasn't very magical of him was it???

Great pictures! Wow, I'm glad your hubby realized so quickly that the guy stole his card. Thieves know all the tricks, and we forget that those types are potentially roaming around Disney! I'm glad you had a wonderful time despite that incident~
I'm glad you had a great time with your family. We went last year with a group of 13 also and we're going in May with 8. Which resort did you stay at? How was the transportation from resort to parks?
Did you go the week of thanksgiving or after Thanksgiving? We went the week of thanksgiving and the Magic Kingdom was super crowded. We want to plan a trip for next year and I thought the week after Thanksgiving would be better.
We had a great time too.. Isn't it great how it's decorated? Totally put you in the holiday spirit.
We stayed at All Star Sports for my son...believe me...it was princesses everywhere because of our girls. I suprisingly found the transportation to be really great. We never waited more than a few minutes and were always able to get all 13 of us on at the same time. I thought it was really great, but I missed being able to run to a convenience store or pharmacy if I needed to do so. That big, clean McDonalds was calling my name!!!! I'd like to try a moderate resort next time. Years ago, I stayed at Carribean Beach Resort and loved it! It was so nice there, but there is not one complaint I have about All Star. I just think my kids would love the waterslide there since they are swimmers!
We did go during the week of Thanksgiving. The only park I found to be crowded was Epcot. We did the Magic Kingdom on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I was totally prepared for major crowds, being a holiday weekend. We had no trouble at all. When Kendall waited to see Ariel, her favorite, they said the wait would be 60 minutes....but it only took about 20!
I thought it was so beautifully decorated for the holidays! I don't know how I can go back unless it is decorated.
It was really chilly though. I totally lost my voice on Day 1 and just got it back this week. My parents have bronchitis....just a fluke though!

I just saw something on our local news tonight about a jr. high school football team is in Disney this week playing for a national title. If remember correctly from previous posts almost all of the value resorts rooms are reserved for players and cheerleaders. Not sure if the week after Thanksgiving would be less crowded. As DVC members I know the first 2 weeks of December, the crowds are lower.

THANKS! I'll keep that in mind for next year. I was thinking the 2nd week in Dec would be great.
Every year POPwarner goes to Disney in December and some of you remember the news about the fight at the All Stars? I just found this follow up

It's important to note which large groups are going and which hotels they prefer. Unless you like to ride a bus with all of them and not fully understand the question about the text from AMY???LOL

OMG I didnt know that. I do know though that when we were at ASSp there were a ton of teens there (and I think they only had football/baseball/surfing open) and they were LOUD, rude, and it turned us off the resort. We will be doing A Moderate or Shades of Green next time.
