We are taking our soon to be 3 year old to Disney on Ice for her Birthday and thinking of getting the VIP seats. Can you ladies please share with me what you think about which seats are the best. I want her to be able to see well.. Are there any benefits to VIP seats or should we just get regular seats I was told row 100 is good...

Thank you!!!

we take our kids now ages 4 and 2 to a disney on ice show... at least once a  year... we ALWAYS go when we can get front row ice seats... VIP in other words... they get up close with the characters and depending on the show might possibly get to touch their hands or interact with them... I say if you can afford the vip tickets, go for it

well, we are the opposite.

No reason for vip seats, we have never had a bad seat in the house.  We get the 10 dollar opening night tickets.

Everything else adds up, the cotton candy, the toys, the drinks, etc.

My kids would probably love if a character gave them a high five, but seriously, for the cost, its silly.  We can go to many shows if we get the cheaper tickets.  We usually do two disney on ice a year, and the circus, so if we get the cheaper tickets we can do it all.  Where as if you we spend 300 on one show (between tickets, food, souvenirs etc), we could only do one show a year.

i will agree with the previous poster that  you have to be prepared for souvineres... we take our own themed things... stuff we have here at home and make the point that the only thing we will purchase is the program book for each kid... then we get one thing of popcorn to share and snacks in our diaper bag...

for the circus, the ringling bros that we hit 2 times a year, we always do seats on the side of the arena and up high, almost at main level... it's easier to see all that is going on that way... we prefer that for that type of show...

it's honestly a personal choice, and what you can afford

We are looking to go as well and you can save $5 per ticket on the non-VIP, non-front row tickets with the code FS22.  Have fun!

First off I made a comment to my dad that was it me or did all the skaters look like they were under the age of 15.  The only ones who looked older were the one who played dad, the one who played the shark, and the one who did a school of fish.  Everyone else  looked like babies.  My dad said to me well either they are all young and short or Disney found all the "little people" in america. (He said another word but I will be kind as he did not say it in ignorance of small people)

The guy in front of us said someone told him out in the "lobby" areas that they heard that Disney is getting the actors from local skating groups.   Makes alot of sense because.....

One they kept falling.    At one point they had the arena people out inspecting the ice...it wasnt the ice it was the shoddy skaters.

the prices went up for gifties.  We made a plan not to get any...but the light ups things were 18 and up.  We counted the whole arena when it turned dark.  Out of the whole place we saw 20 light ups.  Granted I guess they could have had them turned off but why bother.   stuffies were 10$ at intermission, after it was over I saw the price on them was 12$...hmmmmm...

They did not have people walking around with popcorn, drinks, or cotton candy like other years.  At the shows start we saw one person carrying a tray with drinks, that was it.  Never saw him again.  We missed 20 mins of the show after intermission because daddy and I said we would wait in line so they(the kids) could go back with my parents. (We even had left the first part as soon as they were announcing intermission to get in line, and the guy who waited on us was quite rude...BTW those drink sports bottles are free refills.  When my mom went to get refills after the show he rolled his eyes at her so she said to us give me yours too. i dont care if we dump them out in the parking lot he is filling them all...LOL)

They were very cheap on the props this year.   Other years there seemed to be much more on the ice then this year.   Beyond the coral during some of the acts it was four pieces of plastic dropped down from the ceiling and the rocks from last year as the "fish tank".  On that note my father and I enjoyed watching the fish tank plants that fell from the ceiling as they plopped down....that was the high light of our night watching them come down.

last...the skating was just ehhh.   There was no wow skating moments.  It was more like they were just walking around on skates and maybe a twirl here or there.  I remember when I was little these big jumps and stuff.  Not now.  Now I looked at my moms scrapping stuff as she scraps the ice shows...and I was indeed right. Other yars they did fancy skating, lifts, jumps....not this year.  Not any at all.....

Our favorite part was mickey and friends right at the beginning.  Gracie was screaming hey mickey did you find mommys camera????  LOL....(for those of you who dont know we lost our camera in Dec in WDW so that was cute)

Eddie said it did not compare to the Nemo show we saw in the Animal king.  He was right....or maybe we just got spoiled and had bigger expectations of Nemo.

My mom said this is the last year we are going and as we got in the car she was saying how it was so short and we got jipped.  The kids told my mom they loved it but my son said when we got home that he was bored.  I would have been to except that the rude jerks behind me let their kid kick my head the entire show..I was trying to be kind and not speak up but maybe if they had paid more attention to their son then the 12 beers that they and their two friends polished off then maybe my show might have been a bit more enjoyable.  Which leads me to a final comment and then I will climb off my soap box....what makes a grown adult think it is okay to leave their garbage behind on the ground...the rude people who sat behind us left their beer bottles, popcorn boxes, and other food wrappers all over the ground.  At one point we even felt them push some of it under the backs of our seat so it was under US.   Yes there are people who clean the arena when we leave but they arent there to be your maid or servant.   Be a bit respectful of others and take your garbage to the trash..you have to walk past it anyway....

So whew..I have said my piece.  Now back to WDW vacation planning..LOL

Oh, that stinks, sorry you had such a bad time

We have seen the nemo one too, and honestly it has been one of our favorites!  That and when the incredibles go to the magic kingdom!  We really liked Nemo, we were up high, and it was so cool looking down, sort of like you were looking into the tank!

Maybe it was a bad night!

We saw the same Nemo show on Saturday morning in Scanton, PA. I'll agree with you that all the skaters are really tiny. I was surprised by that. But I thought the show on a whole was pretty good. We took our girls as a late Christmas gift and they loved it, so that's all the matters. The cost of our seats weren't that bad, but the cost of everything else was crazy. Because it was part of the christmas thing, we told them they could get something. It cost of an extra $50 in lights, $5 for parking but the smiles on their faces was priceless. This was a great thing to do to get them excited about our trip to WDW in May.

My daughter is 4 yrs old and we are in CA. In Feb. we will be attending her 5th disney on ice (we havent missed one locally) in the friont row. I love it. no kids in front of you pouncing on their seats, dont have to worry about switching seats if there is an adult in front of your child..and all the characters come up and take pictures..they will stop and pose behind her..I couldnt sit anywhere else now. We always get the snow cone cup and fun spoon, a light saver thingy, and pictures...its been a family tradition since my DH and I were little...

Well I will just say we have gone with my parents now every year and this is the first show that we were like ehhhhh about.   I love ice skating so I am not this negative person about it all.  Just IMHO the show sucked.   We will go again but for sure if things stay just ehhhh I dont know if I will continue to go.  I may just let the kids go with my parents.  Tickets are not that costly but it started out as fun for them for the post Christmas gift but it seems silly to pay an extra 60 for us when we are not impressed by it.  I will let my parents enjoy that family fun...we can always do other things with the kids....
