WDW in October???

So when we orginally planned our return trip, we were going to do it the same as we did in Dec.2008...we were there for eight days and left three days before peak season started.  Well this year Josef's Christmas Pagent and the peak season dates are TOO close together for our liking.  He *must* be present for his Christmas Pagent and doing eight days in WDW would put us leaving the day before peak season starts.  It was getting crowded three days before peak-I can not imagine leaving only one day before peak season starts.

Now we are trying to decide wheather or not to go right after Thanksgiving, and being in WDW for Josef's 7th birthday (Nov.29th) or going for our wedding anniversary in October (the 11th).  We LOVED Disney for Christmas and did not get to go to the MVMCP and wanted to experince that of course.  Halloween is not our "thing" while Josef of course loves it, Christmas is our "thing".  It would be nice to see Disney for Halloween though!

So, if you had to choose between the two-when and why, thanks!

We went last year the week of Thanksgiving, and it was crowded.. I wouldn't recommend that week, but I heard the week after is really nice.  We are actually going the week before Thanksgiving this year.  11/13-11/20.  We love it decorated for Christmas too and want to see MVMCP..

Thanksgiving is November 25th, we would not fly out unti either the 28th or 29th.

My parent's wedding Anniversary is November 27th, and they went for their honeymoon-back in 1982 and they even remeber how crowded Thanksgiving is in WDW.

The weekend right after Thanksgiving is a perfect time to go! Its one of our fav times. It is not crowded, most are leaving right after Thanksgiving, so its not crowded, the weather is great, and all the festivities are going on( we were just there again this past Dec)! The only thing is that the first weekend of Dec ( which would be the following one so you might be leaving then) is when they tape the Christmas Day Parade at MK so that park is NUTS that Friday and Saturday.....we used to go in Oct when our kids were little and it was a perfect time to go but more and more found that out and we felt it was getting more and more crowded...so now we go the weekend after Thanksgiving into the first week in Dec and we also love the first week in May.

We went last year at the end of September of 2009.  WDW was decorated for halloween and it was spectacular.  The Halloween party is a must see for all and the trick or treating was great.   The only down fall was it was unseasonable hot there.  Well atleast that is what some cast members were saying.  We had previously gone in September of 2006 and the weather was comfortable in the upper 70's lower 80's.   We are going again this October (10/7-10/13) for a week to do the Halloween party again and see all the decorations.
