I was wondering what time of the day do you arrive at the parks each morning( especially non Florida residents). I have been at Animal Kingdom on Christmas DAY and heard the park was closed due to the number inside but we got there before 8:30am so of course we were there and by noon had done A LOT!!! But we only knew of the closing ( no longer letting NEW guest arrive) because of 2 workers talking.
But I never arrive later than 9am ( my husband hates that but sorry tickets are expensive) and you can get several rides in those early hours. We missed the opening ceremony at Magic Kingdom and the monorail infront of us got there in time because I couldn't get my husband to run( yeah I sat on that empty monorail with my family upset with him) but the upside was my husband, son and nephew got to ride in the front. After that accident ( in July)I couldn't have let them because I never knew it was that dangerous
So what time do you get inside the parks?
We might do one or two early morning, and we stay two weeks. We are on vacation, we don't want to wake up early. We also go off season, and have never waited in a single line for more than 15 minutes, ever.
We are ususally getting there between 10, and 11, and stay till closing. You can get just as much done the last hour the parks are open. The parks really seem to clear out then too.
I don't want to wake up super early on vacation, my kids don't want to be drug out of bed on vacation, we don't stop for naps, so when we get up, we get up.
When we vacation were always up and at the park about 10min before it opens. We figure we have the weekends at home to sleep in so were not going to waist out vacation sleeping lol

We don't sleep in when we are at WDW..lol we try to get as much in as we can. We always do the parks with the EMH in the morning so we are at the park about 7:40am or so. Then we do a late breakfast or early lunch when all the rest are getting in:) we do 2 parks the 1st two days then a down day then the last 2 days the other 2 parks.
We always do AK the 1st full day at WDW then Epcot the next day so we can be in the park all day into the night. Then the next day we rest..sleep in and just hung out at the hotel. Then we do DHS then the last day is for an all day at MK!!! We did that for years....we are going in July and just going to MK for the day:( But if we get in to $$$ then we'll stay for week and go to all the parks:)
We try to make it to the parks right around 9am ish i aim to see the opening show but have missed the rope drop every time lololololol we don't drag the kids out of bed they drag us out lololol I figure the vacation is for them so we get dressed and go grab breakfast at the parks. Also i always bath the kids at night when we get back to the room no matter how late it is and i lay out the next days clothes and re pack the backpack....that way we don't have a lot to do in the AM we can rush out the door ASAP
We have never been to a rope drop and we might do that when we go in May. Normally we wake up around 7:00-7:30, have breakfast and leave the resort around 9:00. Which means we get to the parks around 9:30. In the past we always stayed in the park to about 11:30-12:00, back to the resort till 4:00 and back to the park till close. With the girls being older we might not be going back to the resort, but we will need to see on that.
We have been twice and since my kiddies are early risers, we are always at the parks before they open. I have never been when they (to my knowledge) did not let anyone else in the park due to crowds and I must say I have only been during busy times: Spring Break 2005 and June 2008 (week after school let out)...it was pretty crowded both times, but I can deal with the crowds. I would be devastated if I unloaded all 3 kids, strollers, all our other gear, walked all the way up to entrance and then got turned away...UGH! That would be awful! I've heard of it happening, but I figure I am safe as long as I am there at opening each morning!
we susally go when it's very not-crowded (early December most of the time)...........so we generally take it easy and remember that we're on vacation.....we stay out pretty late (we're all night owns - even the kids)......so we usually don't even arrive at a park till well after 10 in the morning.
