We leave tomorrow!! YAAHHH!!! So excited!! Anywhoo...My DD will be mising 2 days of school & I'd like to get her to have some sort of educational experience at WDW while havin fun. Anyone have any ideas how I can make her learn in a fun way? Any games, activities we can do or certain places we should see? I know Epcot can be pretty educational & I was thinking the Hall of Pres in MK too, but I need more ideas!! Thanks!

If you can, do the tour in the Land at Epcot (it's the boat ride where they show you how they grow veggies using hydroponics). On the tour you walk behind the scenes. Most of the other things that are educational are only open to large groups like schools or home schoolers so I'd either call for more tips or look it up online. This is the only thing that I know about that one can do as a family. Oh & there are the tours at MK but they can be tricky & pricey. Some you have to have a certain # of people in your group while others are only for older kids.

Someone once mentioned something about having them calculating the miles to and from Disney from home. Not sure how you're traveling (we drive) but next time we go our daughter will be 9 and we'll definitely have her do that.

Animal Kingdom there are lots of learning opportunities as well (different cultures and countries, animals, etc) Let her be in charge of the maps, helping you navigate from spot to spot.

How old is she?

OMG, I COMPLETELY disagree! I thought it was before and avoided it every time we went. But last time we had some time to kill before our lunch rez so we went (mostly to get out of the heat) and it was educational and a little emotional. I teared up at least twice.

ditto on your DD age., But my oldest son is 7 (2nd grade) and he enjoyed getting a passport stamp at each country and then filled out a card for each country by asking the cast members there what the capital is, what language they speak there, what they are "famous" for, etc.. he asked all sorts of questions! :) and then got to go back to school and tell the class about all the diff coutries there.

We only live 2 hours away. I dont know about her calculating the miles b/c she's only 6, she wouldn't know how to do that, but that is a cool idea for older kids...I'll remember that when she's older. I didn't think about AK being educational, but your right about the animals & different countries & cultures b/c when we were there when she was 4, we went on the safari & the driver was from Africa & told us all how to say Hello in his language...Jumba (sp?) & she still remembers that :)

LOL I think it's boring too, but my DD has a weird obsessio with Barack Obama & the White House, she think it's all so cool so I think she'd like that.....but otherwise I wouldn't go in it myself lol
