OK I have seen a lot of talk about Captain Cook's and hear that It offers two of Disney’s most beloved menu items —

 Tonga Toast and Dole Whips.
 It’s open 24. Hours.

also hear it serves up some pretty unique and delicious eats..... we are going to go for dinner.B4 getting dinner hit the pool for little the 1st night and then eat at Captain cooks and wait for the MK fireworks and Electrical water pageant.

SO for you mom's that have gone to have a QS dinner at Captain cook's what is GOOD for dinner?

I don't remember seeing dole whips on the menu. But wasn't really looking so maybe they are.
They have the best potato wedges, we get them for every meal of we eat there. Yummy!

You'll see a lot of mom's love the "DW" it's in the MK but I just found out it's also at the Poly:)

Snacks Series: Dole Whip

Aloha Isle

You may have passed it a million times, but that Adventureland Dole Whip stand — otherwise known as Aloha Isle — holds a little golden treasure worth digging (into your pockets!) for.

The authentic Dole Whip’s core ingredient is Soft-Serve Pineapple Sorbet, and it can be served float-style, with pineapple juice; or all alone. No matter how you get it, you’re spending under $5. (NOTE: The stand also serves chocolate, orange, and vanilla soft-serve, which you can have in a soda pop float if desired…but why wouldn’t you want a REAL Dole Whip?)

We always stay at the Poly. The Dole Whips can get expensive because they charge by the ounce, but they are worth it. You can buy pineapple juice from the refridgerator case to make a Dole Whip Float like they  have at Aloha Isle in Adventureland.

Honestly, I can't really reccomend anything from CC's for dinner. It's all pretty standard food court fare. My daughter always gets chicken strips and likes them. I've had an underwhelming Hawaiian flat bread, and an ok pork sandwich.  I love breakfast there, though. Tonga Toast is amazing and everyone needs to try it, at least once.

What I usually do for dinner, if we don't have a reservation, is get take out sushi from the Kona sushi bar. They make it fresh in front of you. The Kona Crab Cake Roll is to die for, and you can get a Lapu Lapu from there as well. Actually, that's a good tip. You don't need reservations at the Kona Cafe to eat there. If you walk up and sit at the sushi counter, a waiter will come by and you can order the full menu from the Kona, including drinks.

I am with you 100% on the Kona sushi bar!  The crab cake roll and California luau rolls are both soooo good.  Each roll is pretty much the same price as any meal at Captain Cooks.  We only picked up a Dole Whip from CC, but you can order Tonga Toast from room service and that kicks ass in itself!

For food at the Poly, my favorite will always be O'hana.  The banana foster bread pudding is worth the cost!  LOL

For those who want their fix of Tonga Toast, if you go to Disney Insider, there is a recipe section with a step by step video on how to make it from one of the chefs!
