Ok...the only thing I've ever special requested was room location. But, I see on here and on wdwinfo boards about how people get special recognition for kids b-days, ect. We've been there on b-days and she gets her button, but never any real acknowledgement. Am I just not putting in for the celebration right when they ask? So anyway...if you've celebrated anything at Disney, how did you do it to make it the best for your kids? Here is what is going on for our trip....
My youngest already turned 4, but this is her b-day trip as well as her sisters. We have a special dinner planned for her--separate for sister's night.
My oldest is turning 8 while we are there--actual b-day 3/10, we get there 3/8.
I also want to do a gender reveal to kids and hubby with maybe some sort of cake? Instead of Happy Birthday--a It's a..... I will hopefully find out the week we leave and thought that would be fun...will Disney put stuff like that on cakes?
I feel like I'm a new at Disney all over again, even though we've been there like 20+ times!

Ive never had any special requests so no help there.
Hope everything goes well though...sounds like you have lots to celebrate!

That's why I'm so stuck, LOL. We've requested 1st floor rooms before. That's it, in all our travels to the World.
And thanks =) this is our big celebration trip!

We celebrated both our kids' birthdays and our anniversary on our last trip. For one meal we made it just for our daughter and she got a cupcake, another just for our son and he got a cupcake and then at one meal because they were both wearing their buttons they both got another cupcake! Just having the button on, everywhere we went they were told Happy birthday and my daughter LOVED the attention!
We had other requests, like sitting in the back of the restraunts because of my son's sensory problems and they were great in doing that.
We celebrated our anniversary and my son's third birthday when were were there. When we booked the room, the cast member asked what we were celebrating and it was noted on the reservation. When we arrived at our resort, we were told that due to our celebrations, we were upgraded to a lagoon view room. We were also suprised with cards from Mickey and Minnie and 20% discount cards to use on our photopass photos. Every resturant we ate at brought us celebration desserts as well.
Just telling them is all you really need to do. When you book let them know you are there to clebrate your kids brithdays. Like another post said where the button where ever you go you have to announce to them. Then the little extras will just pop up.
The last time DH & I went it was for our annviersary. We had the pins & of course the Contempoary knew it was our day because we stayed there so we were given a special little dessert at the CA Grill & then just a "Happy Anniversary" everywhere we went be it from the cast or other guests. It was cool.
As far as announcing the gender of your baby on a cake I suggest you call ahead to where you are eating or to the dining reservation line & see what they say. You'd really be surprised what they do to make special moments extra special. Happy birthday to your kids, congrats on your baby-to-be & have a wonderful trip! P.S.- you MUST tell us how it went! :D

That's good to know about the back of the restaurant because our oldest has sensory issues

Be sure and get a GAC as well if lines and crowds bother him. Best thing we ever did for him and our sanity!
