What idea or tips do you have to help keep your kids from getting lost or if they do get lost, what do you do to make sure they get back to you asap?
The last time we went I made sure that we all had uniqe matching shirts, shirts no one else would have. All 6 of us had the exact same shirts on. I also wrote my cell phone number on the inside bottom seem of the shirts, and each day 2-3 times we would quiz the kids on what to do and who to look for if they got lost. Thankfully we didnt need it, but I felt so much better, knowing that they had my cell phone number incase my kids got lost. My kids were 15, 6 and 4 at the time we went. I didnt write it on the 16 yr olds shirt lol. BUT he did have a matching shirt on too!
I usually write my phone number on the inside of my sons arm and we are always matching outfits. Even on our monthly trip. I remember last year my mom took my son into the explore brother bear trails and he ran to try and get on the big slide again and went the wrong way and by the time my mom got to the top of the stairs he was gone, she immediately told the cast member at the top of the slide. They had several cast member looking in all the tunnels and they were double checking all the children leaving that area, I walked in that area to meet up with them right as they found him. My mom was a mess she felt so bad that she lost him. He didn't think he was lost so...he thought he was just exploring still. One of the cast memebers didn't even tell him he was lost just asked him to follow him to the slide, then as they got close to my mom and she called his name and he called her name back. The cast member smiled and gave the all clear on the walkie. Its funny because this time my mom said he isn't allow in that area unless there are two of us to watch him. Though I said the same thing about pirate island there are these caves that aren't large adult friendly....
We are going in a few days and I plan on having a cellphone for my 10year old to keep in her pocket. I like the idea of writing your number on their shirt or arm I may try that with my 3yr.old. She's got a speech delay and kinda hard to understand so she wouldn't be much help with names and numbers.
We took pics of the kids at the beginnin g of each day, had harness for little ones when they got out of stroller. Used buddy system and made sure each parent had their assigned kids. During night time performances they had light up shoes and held our hands til we cleared the crowds. Kids walked beside us or in front at all times. We never had an issue with 4 kids ages from 10 months to 10 yrs.
