Cell phone issues at disney

My husband and I kept texting each other since we would split up with the kids to ride different rides and over half the time they never went thru.  First we thought that maybe we weren't using our area code, but we double checked the saved contacts and the area codes were there.  We tried calling too and each others number would either ring and ring and never go to voicemail or would instantly go to voice mail.  It was the strangest thing.  Our phones were showing all bars so it appeared to be adequate coverage but calls just didn't go thru.  It was the weirdest thing.  We saw several families using the longer range walkie talkies.  I'm thinking we will do that too next time.

My dh won't text so we called- its hard to hear with the noise though. We also wants to use walkie talkies next time

We texted and never had any issues. Do you have a larger, nation-wide cell service, or a smaller, more local one? That could make a difference.

We have Verizon and never had any problems.

we never had problems...what type of phone...the only time I had problems was when I had a weird setting on my phone..I could not receive any text or calls!

We had issues too. Texts were delayed. We didn't get each other's calls most of the time.

Ok, good to know.  Bummed its happening but glad it wasn't just us having issues.
