What dining plans do you all go with? Do you make reservations for every night in advance?

We always do the regular dining plan. With the one Table Service, one Quick Service and one snack. It works really well for our family. And we make reservations at the 180 day in advance mark

We have done the basic dining plan twice and no dining plan once. All three time we made advance dining reservations for all of our sit down dinners. Dhwill only go to Disney will the dining plan. I don't think you really save that much money, but it is nice knowing you have all your meals paid for in advance. Disney food is not cheap, and not having to pay 40 bucks for 3 people to eat at a fast food type establishment made it worth it. Of course, we really did pay for it, but we didn't think about it at the time. I like the dining plan because DH is cheap and I don't have to listen to him complain about the food prices or suggest to eat PB&J in our room, lol. The dining plan was plenty of food for us, and we even had a few quick service credits left when we checked out. We always drive, so we stopped by downtown disney to pick up a few sandwiches and didn't have to stop to eat on the way home.

Same here. Any snack credits left, I buy treats at the resort to take home with us.

In doing the math, it almost always works out to our advantage. There are a few restaurants where it might not but for the most part it does.

We always do the dining plan and always make reservations 180 days in advance. It's great not worrying how much things cost or carrying money around, everything goes right on our card.

I went with the regular for our trip in oct. I am hoping for free dining, but counting on paying. If yje regular meal plan is free, I am upgrading to delux so we can do 3 meals a day without spending oop.

We are staying off-site, so no dining plan for us. We have an ADR every day of our trip though, and we booked them at the 180 day mark. Paying out of pocket is going to be fun. Sitting here at home, my husband doesn't care how much meals are going to cost, even though he knows that several of them are going to run us over $200, but when he gets there and actually SEES the bill, I figure he's going to flip a little. lol

I have it pretty much figured out what it's going to cost for each meal, but it's probably OVER figured. I factored in apps and desserts, and those probably won't be ordered when we actually get there. When we looked at menus my goofy mom and husband picked those things out, thinking they will be starved at meal times, and that they will want dessert because it's Disney. If they ever eat a single dessert, or eat apps past the first TS meal, I'll be shocked. I don't know why they insist on thinking they will eat more than they usually do. Some of the pictures I've seen, the meals are so freaking big...It's like a two person serving size on one persons plate. O.o

Lol good luck with that. I know meals can add up quick.

Haven't stayed on property yet to give it a try. For my May trip we are not getting it. It wouldn't be worth the cost. FL res., DVC, and Pass members can get a discount card called tables in wonderland. That is what we are going to do. I have all our ADRs booked at the 180 day mark. I calculated what each meal would cost plus tip and we will come out ahead.

For my trip with my DD in Sep. depending on if we can get free dining with our stay. I will just pay the extra to upgrade to the regular dining plan. Since we will be staying at a value I want to do a couple of TS places.

We do for all of the sit down meals. The first time we went, we only made a few reservations & a lot of places were completely full on the nights we didn't have reservations. Because of that, it left us wondering around for a place that accepted one table service in our location & we became hungry & grumpy. So, we said never again! Now, we know reservations for every night is a must!!
