I'm getting worried....no movement yet

I am 20 weeks pregnant with baby #2. I first started feeling my first daughter move at 18 weeks. So far I haven't really felt anything. I'll feel a big movement, such as side to side, but even that's only every once in awhle.

My Dr doesn't seem concerned...I even went in on Tuesday just to hear the heartbeat really quick..it was at 150...But for some reason I'm very worried about this pregnancy, much more than my first. I figured having 2 babies in a year would put me more at ease but it hasn't at all. I start running crazy things through my mind like I wonder if the baby's really small, not developing right...I still have 3 1/2 weeks before my big ultra sound in scheduled.

I've always heard that your 2nd baby you should feel alot earlier. So I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Or maybe just words of encouragement? I know I'm prbly freaking out about nothing, but I can't help it! Thanks girls!

Take a deep breath.  If the doctor isn't concerned at this point I wouldn't worry.

I remember feeling my oldest moving early in the pregnancy (don't remember which week, sorry) but then I didn't even know I was pregnant with the second one until he was 21 weeks!  From that moment I kept waiting for the big moves but they never came.  He just wasn't as rambunctious as his sister was.  Because my pregnancies were so close together I started to compare them, even looked at my journal to compare them.  I started to drive myself crazy and told myself that each child is different and if there was something wrong the doctor and his nurses would let me know.

Don't know if this helps but I thought I'd share.

My boys are 10.5 mos apart. My 2nd didn't move much at all either. I remember being worried too but he was just a very quiet little guy....he also decided to show up 3 weeks early! NOW, he's 3 and I can't get him to be still or be quiet - unless he's asleep. I also didn't feel my girls move till much later in their pregnancies....maybe I was just distracted. But they all came out just fine.

With my second one, I didn't feel him move til almost 23 weeks, and he didn't move much through the whole pregnancy. My dr said it was because having them so close together, it doesn't give your uterus time to full tighten back up, so you don't feel as much movement, even though they're moving a lot. It'll be ok. I worried a lot too, but he was born full term and average sized. Best of luck to you.

I was so worried about getting pregnant again so soon (my first was a 7 week early 4 lb. preemie) that I convinced myself I may loose the baby to a super early labor.  Well, I needed to be induced and gave birth to an 8 pounder.

We'd be much better off not scaring ourselves to death about the worries of back to back pregnancies.  Look at all of our beauties.  Relax.

I agree, if the doctor is not concerned then I wouldn't be concerned.  If there is a heartbeat and everything, it's probably fine.  Will you be having an u/s, maybe that would ease your fears.

I Went Through The Same Thing. Actually At 18 Weeks I Fell Down The Stairs (I Hadnt Felt Any Movement Before That) And A Week Later I Still Wasnt Feeling Anything So I Went To The Emergency Room. Ive Been Soo Paranoid With This One. At First Part Of Me Kinda Hoped The Pregnancy Wouldnt Stick Cuz I Didnt Think I Could Handle 2 Babies Then at An Appt The doctor Couldnt Find The Heartbeat And I Wanted To Die So After That I Became So Much More Protective And Worried About This Baby
